I recently started using this external DVD drive and it was very easy to set up. I just connected it to my laptop and it was ready to use without any complicated steps. The design is slim and lightweight, which makes it convenient to carry or store. So far it reads discs smoothly and works well for basic tasks like playing or accessing files. It seems well made and practical for occasional use. Overall, it’s a good value option for an external drive. Read more

The Super External CD/DVD Drive with USB 3.0 and built-in Ethernet + USB hub is an incredibly well-engineered all-in-one solution — far more than just a disc burner. The DVD read/write performance is excellent, with fast spin-up times and smooth, quiet operation. Burning discs is reliable and efficient, and USB 3.0 ensures quick data transfer with no lag or stutter. What really sets this device apart is the integrated hub. The three USB ports are high-speed and handle peripherals, flash drives, and external hard drives without bottlenecks. The two additional connectors (including the Ethernet port) are a huge bonus for laptops or ultrabooks that lack wired network support. The Ethernet adapter delivers stable, low-latency connections, perfect for large file transfers or streaming. Build quality is solid — the unit feels durable, well-balanced, and compact enough for travel. Plug-and-play setup was instant, and the device works flawlessly across Windows, Mac, and Linux systems. If you need an external optical drive plus a dependable expansion hub, this is one of the best multi-function options out there. Fast, reliable, and extremely practical. Read more

I only used it to read a cd with files on it. It worked well and was easy to set up, just plug and play. Worked on windows 10. Was not noisy and read the disc quickly. Only complaint is the cord. It comes with a usb a and usb c which is nice but the length is very very short. If your laptop is on a table you would have no issue. Desktop tower on the floor, have fun with that. Read more

Ripped two CD’s successfully. Trying to eject the second CD caused the unit to escalate to maximum RPM and crash, likely damaging the disk that was worth more than this player. Had to remove from USB-C port, and let it wind down. Took ten minutes to get device to eject CD. Struggled to rip third CD. Could no longer eject disk, had to pry device apart with flathead screwdriver. CD was the only survivor. This disk player was e-waste before and after operation. Eject button and mechanism doesn’t operate unless it’s powered and recognized as a device by your laptop or desktop, and it has difficulty doing that. Meaning, if you give it power via power bank for example, you still cannot open the tray. If you intend to rip more than one CD, buy something else. Anything else. The entire stock insults the landfill it will end up in. Read more
