Supersonic SC198 Dual Screen DVD Player

We wanted to replace 5" B&W analog tv in bathroom with something that would work with changeover to digital. Saw this 8" color Supersonic LCD and thought it would suit our needs perfectly. It needs to be tuned or set for local stations and instruction booklet is not the most user friendly. We could not get local stations because we didn't understand instructions and were ready to return it when our technology gifted son arrived and within 5 minutes gave us an in-service and set/tuned the set. You do have to figure out the channels, however. It is like their channel 1 is equal to your channel 2 and their #3 is equal to your #4, etc. We had to turn on another tv and see what was playing on the Supersonic to determine which channel it was on. We only utilize the built in extended antennae and the picture, although a little fuzzy, is pretty good. I'm sure if it were attached to our cable or outside antennae the picture would be beautiful. I just purchased this new for my 5 year old son. Has not worked once. It says there is no disc yet there is, then after a few it shows an oval moving icon that changes colors and reads DVD video. Please, ANY and all help would be much appreciated. Read more

The DVD player was a little louder than I would like at times when the disk was spinning, however I didn't buy it for the DVD part. What I love is the USB input because I then purchased a low profile flash drive and loaded a bunch of movies on it for the kids to watch. Everything is sturdy and effective. Read more
