Every watch owner should have one.

Build quality is good. The microphone is a little janky in that the weight of the watch makes it sag so it's not laying flat. There is a nut so maybe it can be adjusted but it should just come correctly adjusted. If it's even adjustable. The upgraded screen of this model is a plus. Menus are easy to navigate. I will suggest this model to any watch owner since it is a required tool for determining watch performance. Read more

works well, despite the horrible instruction manual. a must have for a watch collector

Great to check the health of your caliber, regulate the movement, and it's just plain fun. I have a vintage omega seamaster 300M, among a few other omegas. I had it serviced recently after it stopped working. It took omega 3 months before it was done. They included a sheet stating that it was regulated to +4 seconds, a day, within cosc standards. I was excited to open it up and picked it up on the cushion, which was top heavy, and promptly dropped it. Felt like I fumbled the ball on the goal line with seconds on the clock. I set the time and put it in my watch case, came back 24 hours later and it lost 10 seconds. I tried setting it face down, 24 hours later it was another 11 seconds slow. I only wear it a couple of days per week, so I hate it losing so much time while sitting in the case. So I bought this timegrapher. I have an inexpensive watch with a seiko NH35 caliber, which runs 15 seconds fast per day, quite good for a NH35, though had a beat error of 1.1. I practiced regulating that and corrected it to +6 per day with a beat error of .2. I then checked the omega on the timegrapher, and it turns out that the average of the 6 positions is +4. It just has significant variation in the different positions. I discovered that if I leave it at a 45 degree angle between face up and 12 down, that it only runs +2 per day. So that is how I store it in my case, and everything is fine now. The amplitude, btw, is averages a great 300. If I hadn't gotten this, I would have lived forever with a watched that I believed to be slow, and be cursing myself about my fumble. Read more

Excellent Timegrapher for Watch Enthusiast

Cliff WilliamsMarch 12, 2026✓ Verified purchase

The SWANSOFT Timegrapher No.1900 is a great tool for anyone who wants to evaluate or regulate mechanical watches. Setup is simple—plug it in, select the beat rate, and place the watch on the microphone holder. The display is clear, and the timing trace makes it easy to read key metrics like rate, amplitude, and beat error. After a short stabilization period, the readings are consistent and reliable for hobby regulation. Build quality is solid, and the holder works well in multiple positions. Overall, this unit offers excellent value and functionality for collectors and hobby watchmakers without the cost of professional equipment. Highly recommended. Read more

I'm glad I got the 1900 with the bigger screen

Bill BranscumJuly 19, 2025✓ Verified purchase

I'm glad I got the 1900 with the bigger screen. I have collected watches since 1970, I have about 100. You cannot believe how easy this thing is to use and the results can be very surprising. Some of my least expensive watches outperform some of the very expensive ones. The pic shows the San Martin 62MAS ($179 on Amazon) performing at -3 sec/day. To put that in perspective, the new "Limited Edition," and ridiculously expensive Seikos, SLA055J1 and SLA057J1 advertise accuracy of +15 to -10 sec/day. The new Seiko 5 SSK033 GMT that I bought in May was running at -56 sec/day. I sent that to my watch smith to fix as that is completely ridiculous. Very nice to have if you collect watches. Read more

A needed tool for working on watches

As a hobbyist watchmaker I need this to analyze and service watches. This is a better one, nicer display, larger screen and more options. Works great so far and I expect it to last a long time. Read more

Watch Timer

Must improve manual. It works but, two watches. Both fast. One shows fast and one shows slow? Auto select not perfect. One shows 18000 and one shows 15000 beat rate. Read more
