Swimming Creatures Freshwater Aquarium Fish Collection Live 4 Dwarf Puffer Fish

I am unable to update the seller feedback I left before the issue was corrected so I am leaving feedback on the item itself. This is a small business and I don’t want to harm them with negative seller feedback when the issue has been resolved, and will continue to try to remove my post from the seller feedback section. The first set of these I ordered in December was the victim of a highly unlikely incident where the truck was robbed and therefore they did not show up for several weeks. Amazingly they did finally arrive, but you could smell them through the box that they were long dead. The box came with instructions on how to submit a claim for DOA and this was a very simple process. They also include a contact phone number for any urgent issues or specific questions. I truly believe they wish to provide the best service possible but fear they may be overwhelmed with orders or there are too many hands in the pot so to speak, because the responses I got seemed unconnected to previous responses I had and my replies to them. That being said, the second shipment did arrive with all 6 alive and healthy. Pea (dwarf) puffers can be wild or captive bred, and you never really know which you are getting. Because of this, they are sometimes very fragile and appear underfed and listless. This is not the case at all with these little guys. They are currently acclimating but they are swimming around and exploring and they have round little bellies indicating they were cared for and likely are parasite free. I will definitely try this shop again in the future. My puffers that arrived today were packed in a bag and put into an insulated bag, then surrounded by filler insulation and there was a heat brick underneath the insulated bag to provide warmth. Care was clearly taken with packing - I did not have the tracking number this time to see how long they were actually in transit, but it was a high of 6 degrees today and they showed up perfectly healthy. I ordered 2 sets of 6. They arrived in 2 days and were well packaged. The fish arrived healthy and active with directions for acclimation. It’s been a week and they are thriving. Just a warning, this is not a beginner fish. I researched for months ahead of time, designed a tank with this species specifically in mind and treated for worms and parasites after arrival. High quality fish, shrimp and snails and I will be ordering from this business again. FYI These fish love to sleep and bury themselves in the sand which freaked me out initially. Excellent! Recently, I just cycled a brand new fish tank for a little over three weeks. It was time to put in fish. I actually ordered multiple fish from different vendors online. This vendor was the best one. Not one fish was dead. Packaging was perfect. There was instructions and a heating pad inside of the insulated box. Within the instructions there’s actually a phone number to text if there was any issues or problems. I actually was able to contact the seller through text and ask them more questions about the P puffers that I needed food, etc. They answered me back quickly and everything was perfect. I'm a new Swimming Creatures regular!! First thing every aquarist (should) knows is that loss is part of the process, not everything makes it through the trip, nor do all always survive when they do. Of the 6 I bought, 4 made it, and I was promptly refunded for the 2 DOA that did not; it was a touch cold, so it was a bit of a gamble when I ordered, and I knew it. This order was for more than the fish; I've bought from them before, I was reordering some assassin snails too - 100% of which have lived and are thriving, 18 strong - including the extras they sent to pad for potential loss; all of the plants I bought are looking great too and will be coming out of isolation over the next few days. I name most of my fish, and I've taken to calling my puffers after the Borg, so these are One of Four through 4 of Four; the way they move often looks like they're drones under artificial, mechanical controls, and they really smash the snails too. I did a count just before I started this review to make certain all 4 were still present, they are; the puffers are one of the fish that will come to the glass and look back at me, although I've had a shy one on occasion that mostly hid. Indian Pea Puffers can be a bit delicate, this is the 3rd time I've bought them in about 18 months, and the care data has already changed for them; originally it was that they're territorial and do best as solo or pairs - now the info is to keep them in small groups, we shall see if this improves their long term survival. I can already discern the unique markings, and I'm certain of at least 1m/1f identified also; it'll change and shift as they grow, but the brightness of a dominant male seems to show up early.
