This pan works great for cooking large meals and works on pretty much any kind of cooking surface. I had no problem using this in the oven, electric stove, or the gas stove. Like with any kind of new pot, I would say gradually increase the heat and never put it on high. The reason being is that the heat is distribution is a little slower to help with electric stove tops so if you happen to turn it up on high right away you may actually damage the bottom center of the pot. For the most part, this has worked for everything I need to cook. It is non stick which makes it easy to clean if you happen to use this for sauce or frying. I usually use this to make famous caramelize egg and pork dish with this. I was able to actually deep fry in this as well although it is not ideal as this is a big pot and takes a TON of oil to fill it up the right amount. It is nice that you have that option though. Again I have to be careful with heating. It can hold up to 5.3 quarts and which is great for cooking for a small family in my opinion. The lid is pretty well sealed. I actually thought there was no steam vent but it actually in the handle which is pretty nice. This is oven safe for up to 500 degrees but NOT THE LID. The pot itself is. I would NOT put the glass lid inside with this pot in the oven. You could break the lid. That being said, the handle is metal and NOT heat resistant so you need to wear gloves when handling this pot and I would recommend using two hands to keep it stable as this is a pretty heavy pot on its own. There is not real lock for the kid so it could possibly fall off. This pot can also be sealed with the lid and placed in the fridge for later on. I would also make sure to not heat this for long periods at a high temperature as you may actually warp or damage the pot. I would also not recommend washing this in the dish washer and to let it soak to avoid needing to scrub the pot down (hand wash it is the best). Overall this is a great pot. It works pretty much for all kind of stoves and the oven so you get more use out of this if you happen to be cooking outside on an electric stove or inside on a gas stove or vice versa. It is nice you can put this in the oven too but be careful with the handles as they are hot. I have not seen any issues with the coating on the inside of the pot. The only thing is that there is some charring on the bottom from normal use overtime but the pot integrity is fine. Read more
I cook quite a bit so I was excited to see this sauté pan. I use a gas stove and must replace cookware frequently do to extensive use. This pan didn’t have any weird smells when I first used it. Most cookware has an odd smell as it heats up the first time. I was pleasantly surprised. The nonstick surface works very well. I only handwash my cookware so I cannot speak to longevity in the dishwasher. My guess is that if you use the proper utensils and hand wash this pan then it will last a very long time. The lid is pretty cool. It seals completely and then has a steam vent in the handle. Oddly enough the handle does not heat up even with steam coming out. I highly recommend this product. Read more
Swiss Diamond is known for excellence and this saute pan is a great example! It is perfectly balanced and the heat distribution is excellent. And unlike with less expensive products, non-stick really means non-stick. I have used it for smothered pork chops, cook prep for several casseroles, grilled squash, and any number of other dishes. The glass, steam-vented lid is great, and the handle really does stay cool. No matter how much I like cooking with this pot, its excellence of construction is even more important to me, knowing that it will last many, many years. This is an amazing pot to cook in. It is very very nice and the finish is outstanding. No sticking has occurred with anything. I would have liked a bit more in the packaging because it came out of the AMZ box with the handle stuck out of it's box. I was expecting a bag of some sort much like my previous HQ pot. That being said the performance was just as good and an abosolute dream to cook in. After many meals, I'd guess 20+ it still acts as if brand new and the finish is still perfect! Read more
This is a gorgeous addition to my cookware set - much nicer than most of the pieces I already have in fact. It IS a bit heavy, so make sure that's what you're looking for. The quality looks fantastic and appears extremely durable. The non-stick works great and it's easy to clean (again, it's heavy so that factors in when cleaning as well). Truly non stick and worth every penny. This has been one of my go to cooking pans. Has a nice weight to it and feels sturdy and premium. Easy to wash, although based on what I'm cooking, a simple wipe with a wet napkin does the trick. It's that easy to clean. Highly recommend and a must have if you need a true non stick pan. Read more
