This bag is made to withstand my 14 year old son! Lots of pockets and dividers. There is a place for everything! The seams are sturdy and the zippers are strong. The handle is reinforced and there is a lot of padding for comfort. I expect this backpack will last him a few years. The last one from Swissgear (identical to this) lasted 3 years and then probably could have been repaired. It’s still in use for storing things, just not the daily haul to school. The straps started pulling out at the seams because it was so heavily loaded with books and laptop. Still, a good value even at this higher price since you really get quality, organization and comfort for several years. Read more

I got the navy ballistic. The fabric seems very tough. The bag is huge. Can fit anything and everything. It fit my laptop, tablet, a 50”x70” blanket for the plane, and many other small things. Almost no complaints about the design. I love the pockets and compartments. It’s very well thought out. Would have liked more pockets for storage in the tablet compartment, but that’s it. I am able to lock up all the compartments using just 2 MasterLock cable combo locks, except the small very front pocket and side zipper pocket. This was great for traveling and not having to worry about pickpockets. I locked the laptop, tablet, and main compartments together, and then I locked the second compartment from the front and sunglasses compartment together. Speaking of that second compartment, it’s nice and deep, and the organization is useful. I put my wallet, passport, and lots of little essentials in there. Some loose threads after less than a month, but it doesn’t seem like a problem. We will see how it holds up. Especially at the price point of $69, this back rocks! I think it’s bigger and designed better than many more expensive bags from SwissGear and others. Read more

I am NOT a backpack girl, however, I'm going on a girlfriend's vacation (6 of us) to Peru in March and only want to bring a carry-on suitcase and a personal item. I don't like to carry a big handbag (although I did in my younger years), so I decided to buy a backpack. I love my carry-on suitcase made by SWISSGEAR, so I decided to order this backpack. I think it's going to be perfect! I'm looking forward to using it, not only to Peru, but future travels as well! The quality is superb, there are multiple pockets for many things, it's comfortable and the value for the money can't be beat! Read more

I bought my last Swiss Gear bag 15 years ago and finally abused it until one of the zippers separated from the bag and the nylon frayed bad enough that I couldn't fix it. That was my primary carry-on and was always stuffed with laptops and tech gear... A travel fan, a couple changes of clothes, sometimes a portable oxygen concentrator, and all my random stuff. I recently had my first work trip since the pandemic started and realized that I no longer had a functioning backpack. This navy blue beauty arrived 11 hours after I ordered it in rural Ohio. It looks great. The fit is comfortable with decent airflow to my back. The cable reinforced handle and sleeve to attach to my suitcase both inspire confidence. This bag is configured a bit different than my old one and doesn't have quite the capacity, but I like it. The much maligned sunglass storage does take up some space... However, knowing my expensive shades are safe is worth it. Small zipper pocket on the front for a wallet, boarding passes, etc. Lower admin pocket is perfect for chargers, earbuds, a small notepad and pen, extra batteries, a couple books, and other quick access items. One side pocket for a drink and the other for lip balm, eye drops, gum, snacks, etc. Larger full length top opening is perfect for larger items, some clothes, whatever. Then you still have your laptop pocket and the zip open to lay it flat for scanning. The zip open also has a pocket for your tablet or something of similar size. If you don't need the zip open the backpack to lay flat for scanning, this would also serve as a compartment for files or other items. I did not have the bag completely stuffed full and it easily slid under the seat in front of me instead of needing to be stowed in the overhead compartment on the plane. Will this last 15 years like my last one? Probably a pretty good chance since I'm traveling a lot less and I take care of my stuff but so far I'm happy. Read more

Junk. Fell apart after 1.5 years. Same happened to another purchased retail. Swiss Gear warranty department is impossible to work with and never responded to my inquiry after sucking hours out of my life submitting pictures and filling out obscure online forms. Do not buy. 👎 Read more

In general a very good quality backpack as you'd expect rom SwissGear. Many pockets for keeping things organized. Small enough to carry onto airplanes and keep it under seat. And the straps and cushion made carrying it pretty comfortable. My only complaint, which is major enough, is the design of the zippers. They operate so smoothly that they become a liability. When I was walking around with the bag on my back, the weight of it would simply pull those smooth zippers apart, opening up the bags. There have been numerous occasions during my travel when I removed the bag and found 2 (or even 3 sometimes) compartments jarring open. The workaround is to move the sliders to the side and bottom, instead of parking them on the top and center. Obviously, no one at SwissGear bothered testing their bags with anything heavy. Read more
