I picked this up to use for multiple reasons and it easily has met my needs in regards to functionality and adjustability. I use it to load up extra weight for a workout -- long walks, hikes, etc. I do not run so I cannot tell you how well this will work for that. I think you would have to be wearing a thick shirt and tighten the straps pretty good so there would not be chaffing. Another use for this item is of course for tactical airsoft or cosplay. Is this something that you should use for your next merc deployment??? Probably not. Especially not without a more thorough abuse test. You don't want to find that the gear you are depending on for your life fails quickly after medium use. But for paintball and airsoft and for workouts this thing is great and it is well priced. I might pick up another for my equipment bin stash I have set aside for when I am building out specialized kits. Read more

This is a pretty great option for those looking to utilize this as a weight vest. Lots of adjustability and seems pretty comfortable! If you don't already have the plate weights that go into this, pay the extra $ for the curved ones. I would say for smaller people, probably smaller women more specifically, this may be a bit large and I could see some having issues with the adjustments getting small enough. But for average builds and above, there's plenty of adjustability to find your perfect fit. Durability, I will have to see over time but nothing about it feels "cheap" like it's going to break or wear down quickly. It seems pretty fair quality to last some time! Do I think it will outlast other, more expensive options? Likely not! But this is a great entry level option for those getting into using a weight vest like this and I would recommend. This is great for what the price is but the quality and "bulkiness" you'd want from a plate carrier isn't there. All the straps are too flimsy and aren't body conforming. It comes with 2 super flimsy foam inserts in the front and back. Overall it works as you'd want it but the fit and ease of adjustability aren't as good as other carriers.
