This is a nice soft thick fleece material like a soft sweatshirt, so it feels very nice against your face. The handy cinch straps with clips function independently to allow the main face area to be snugged down like a sweatshirt hood and also the part that goes over your nose and mouth can also be adjusted similarly. The provides a good fit. The build is sturdy with good elastic straps and clips and the stitching is done well. The comfort is great and this is definitely something for cold weather as material is very thick. The functionality is good as a full head covering but it can’t be used as a headband or neck gator like other balaclavas that use a thinner elastic material. Read more

Great! This is a high quality fleece balaclava in a thick fleece material. I got the black and it is a nice rich black color. I like that it has a double layer by the mouth area as well as the pulls to tighen the mask area to better fit your face. If you wear glasses it may be a little snug with them on or if you have a big head haha. The fleece is plush and soft and very nice. It is comfy and very warm. It is easy to put on and you can sinch it up after so I like that functionality better than some of the other balaclavas out there. This will be great for blowing snow in the northwoods!! Read more

I got the Tahbilk Ski Mask Fleece Balaclava for cold weather hiking, and while I haven't used it for that yet, it should do the job. In fact, it may be too warm for anything but the coldest days. It is made of heavy 100% polyester fleece, which is quite soft and comfortable against my skin. I like that the balaclava covers my entire head except for part of my forehead and eyes. I also like the dual drawstring adjustments, one of which pulls the mask tight around my eyes while the other pulls the mouthpiece tight. I don't like anything over my nose and mouth that feels like it restricts my breathing, and the part that covers my mouth on this one is heavy enough to create that feeling. However, I can easily pull it a little lower to expose my nose while still fitting comfortably. I am sure that this balaclava is adjustable enough to fit just about any adult. I can't wait to try this out on a hike in extreme cold weather, but in the meantime I expect to use it for running errands and such when the weather gets colder. I recommend the Tahbilk Ski Mask Fleece Balaclava for anyone who wants to stay really warm when the extreme cold hits, and I give it five stars. Read more
