Took a chance on this jacket after reading the mixed reviews! It’s slightly weightier and bulkier than I expected, which was a welcomed surprise in my case. With 1-2 layers underneath, it kept me relatively warm during a Christmas trip to England (where the weather was consistently below 40 degrees fahrenheit). I’m 5’2 and 110 lbs — ordered a medium for a slightly oversized fit. The silhouette is boxier than I expected, so I probably would have just ordered my normal size (small) if I wanted a more flattering fit and didn’t need the extra layers underneath. As others have said, the pockets are very strange. While I could still use them, they are much further back than normal since the openings are sewn along the side seams of the jacket. When my hands are in them, it naturally pulls the jacket forward and changes the silhouette from boxy to kind of form fitting in the back … which basically defeats the purpose of having an oversized fit. If you’re wearing it in a cold climate, the pockets are annoying and inconvenient at best. But if you don’t need the pockets for warmth, it probably won’t bother you. All in all, I did receive several compliments on the jacket while traveling. A worthwhile buy if you can figure out the right fit. I ordered this item for my daughter, and when it arrived, it was not sherpa at all. The fabric looked more like a long-haired teddy bear material and was rough and coarse to the touch. It was not as described in the listing. In addition, the wrong size was sent. I am very disappointed with this purchase. Read more
