I can't believe how inexpensive this coat is because it really is a nice one! I've had this trench for a couple of months. I live in the Pacific NW, notorious for our rain! However, I actually do love the rain... and up here trench coats are a must. I'm 66 yrs. I am 5'4" and 170 lbs. I love this style on me because it is slimming and classic. It's a light/med weight coat with lots of room for my being able to layer my clothing under it. It hits me the same as the model shown, about mid-calf. I do have to roll up the sleeves and thankfully the lining is neutral for not clashing with other attire. It is a fun coat to wear and very comfortable. It is quite wrinkled out of the package, BUT DON'T let that hinder you!!! There's an easy fix!!! I tried putting into the dryer, when that didn't work, I set my iron to steam on the silk setting, and the wrinkles came out easy then hung it up to allow it to dry from the steam for a bit. And here's the great thing: I have worn this coat several times and it doesn't wrinkle with wear, must have been the vacuumed packaging that caused the wrinkles before. Overall this is a nice trench coat. The color is true to the pictures and it's a flattering cut, though possibly giving lab coat in this color with tall boots. It is definitely on the lighter weight side, but I don't think the material looks cheap. I'm about a size 10/12 and got the medium, and it fits well--comfortable and not too oversized. Speaking of size, I do agree with the reviewers who noted the sleeves are short, and i also wish the coat itself were a little longer. It comes to just a few inches below my knee and shows most of the shaft of a knee-high boot. I'm 5'4" and I also have short arms. Uncuffed the sleeves are actually perfect but of course you want to cuff them to show the cute patterned lining, at which point my wrists are exposed. Compared with a much more expensive coat, this one definitely has less luxe materials and is thinner with smaller proportions; even so, I think it generally looks pretty good. For a dupe though I think the value for money could be better as it's still not exactly cheap. Also I haven't worn it in the rain yet so can't speak to how well it holds up functionally. I'm so happy with this jacket!!! I got the camel and it's a nice rich color and appears to be good quality. I also like the lining, though it's not really for warmth. I usually wear a cardigan, so even though this little coat is lightweight, I will probably wear it all year long, except for the coldest Kentucky days. I machine washed it and will give it a light ironing, though you probably wouldn't have to. I'm 5' tall, 125 pounds and busty. I got the medium and it fits wonderfully. It hits about mid-calf on me which is fine since I usually wear longer skirts anyway. The pockets will come in handy too. I recommend this piece. Read more
IMHO, this coat seems to run small. I wear a size 16-18, and am 5'2" on a tall day. What little height I possess comes from my torso, not my arms and legs. I have the size XL in this coat, and the length in the body seems okay. It does just barely button around me; it's not tight, or else I would have returned it. But I can't comfortably wear another layer under it. And the sleeves. Oh my, the sleeves. I have short arms; every long-sleeved top I own is too long for my arms, so I always have rumpled sleeves around my wrists. But this coat? I barely have enough sleeve length to fold up and show off the plaid lining. I think if an average person had received my coat, they would have had to return it because of the sleeve length, or lack thereof. But because I have short arms, the sleeves are okay. I would have liked longer sleeves for a more pronounced cuff, but I will settle. I have the black coat, and it appears that all the colors have the same color plaid lining. The coat seems fairly sturdy. I've only had it a few weeks, and spring and fall in Michigan, USA, can be long, but since climate change, those seasons, the time of year to wear this coat, have gotten much shorter. So this coat should last me a long time. I wanted a cloth coat with a good sized collar so that I could wear the beautiful brooches I inherited from my late MIL. This coat is cloth, to be sure, but the cloth is a very, very tight weave, and pushing the brooch pins into the fabric was quite challenging! Read more
