I have been shopping for a Polka Dot skirt for some time now and so I was excited when this became available. For reference, I am 5’2”, weigh 128lbs and normally wear a medium. As I always do before wearing new clothes, I launder them. The instructions for laundering this skirt were machine wash in cold water and line dry. With very few exceptions I do not line dry, this was not one of those exceptions. I washed in cold water and dried on low heat with the skirt in a mesh bag. Before laundering I checked the skirt for stitching and fit and found no issues before or after. There was no unraveling of stitches or shrinkage. Pros: 1. Soft Fabric that is very wrinkle resistant. You could take it out of your suitcase, put it on and be ready to go. The skirt was full of static when I removed it from the dryer. I didn’t notice static at all throughout the full day’s wear. The outer mesh is sheer, but the dark lining eliminates the see-through issue. 2. Comfortable waistband and stretchy fabric that would be great for work and not look wrinkled after sitting all day. Easy fitting and moves with you walking, sitting bending. 3. True to size. 4. The listing markets the skirt for “summer fashion.” There are two layers making it feel heavier than just a summer skirt. I think with appropriate footwear and a sweater, the darker colors would be fine year-round. Cons: 1. The fabric doesn’t line up at the seams. There are three seams, and with a large polka dot print that mismatch becomes extremely obvious when wearing. This is an extremely adaptable skirt, suitable for many different settings as in office, casual or out to lunch. That same versatility carries through to seasons of wear and various age groups. I was sort of disappointed with this skirt. It is thinner than I thought it would be and feels sort of scratchy. I will probably still wear it, but it is really not what I thought it would be. I do love the big polkadots and the fact that it has a stretchy band at the top. It could be very stylish if it were of a little better quality. The fit is true to size. Read more
The Tankaneo brand is becoming one of my favorite brands sold at Amazon. I love this polka dot (large size), elastic high waist summer skirt so much, I have already placed an order for another color. The material is so soft and smooth on my body. The elastic waistband is lies flat on the stomach area and is easy to style for dress or casual occasions. The length on me (I'm 5'8") is flattering as well. The skirt is layered on top of a base of tan polyester material, with the outside see through and sexy. There is tacking to keep the pieces together for the dramatic effect. This skirt can be worn with a tee shirt or blouse, either way the look is flawless. The material is also light and breezy, making for a great addition to my spring/summer wardrobe. I think it is dainty yet durable and is machine washable, hang to dry. This is a lovely skirt and a great value. It is a polyester material with a mesh overlay. I am a 2XL or XX-Large in Amazon fashions, and this fits well; except it is a little tight in the waist because I carry my weight in my stomach. Also, the waist elastic was very thin ... a thicker elastic could have more give. Otherwise, the fabric is soft and flows over your body in an A-line shape. The design is slimming as there is not an overwhelming amount of fabric. The mesh overlay is slightly longer than the under skirt, giving the skirt a nice, flirty bottom. At 5'4", it comes down to the bottom of my knees. It has three seams, and I wasn't sure which side was the front. I played around with it and decided that there are seams on each side and one in the back. The large polka dots do not line up on the seams. Finally, the large polka dots are a little in-your-face ... I would rather have smaller ones or a different design. Read more
