I’ve been using the Tatcha Milky Sunscreen for daily sun protection, and overall it’s a **very pleasant sunscreen to wear**, though the high price may not make it the best option for everyone. **What I liked:** The texture is one of the standout features. It has a **lightweight, milky lotion consistency that absorbs quickly** and doesn’t feel greasy or heavy on the skin. Once applied, it leaves a natural finish that sits somewhere between matte and slightly radiant, making it comfortable for everyday wear and easy to layer under makeup. Another big plus is that it **doesn’t leave a white cast**, which can be a common issue with some sunscreens. The formula includes skincare ingredients like **ectoin, vitamin E, and aloe**, which help hydrate and soothe the skin while protecting it from UV damage. The SPF 50 protection with a high PA rating also means it protects against both UVB and UVA rays, which are responsible for sunburn and premature aging. **What could be better:** The biggest downside is the **price**. At around $50 for a 1.7 oz bottle, it’s definitely on the luxury side, and sunscreen is something you’re supposed to apply generously and reapply throughout the day. That can make it expensive to use consistently. Some people also notice the **light fragrance in the formula**, which may not be ideal for extremely sensitive skin. And while it feels hydrating, those with very oily skin may find the finish a bit dewy depending on how much product they apply. **Overall:** The Tatcha Milky Sunscreen is a **luxurious daily sunscreen with a comfortable texture, high sun protection, and added skincare benefits**. It’s great if you want a sunscreen that feels elegant on the skin and works well under makeup. However, because of the price, it may be better suited for those who enjoy premium skincare or are willing to invest in a more high-end SPF. ⭐ **Overall rating:** 4.5/5 – Beautiful texture and strong protection, but expensive for everyday sunscreen use. I am heading to hot, sunny weather very soon and was very excited to order The Milky Sunscreen from Tatcha. It arrives boxed and interestingly, the outer box did not have a security seal. However the tube inside did have a security sticker, which I appreciate. The tube uses a pump-top dispenser, something I really like, because it keeps everything neater and makes application feel more controlled and hygienic. This sunscreen has a wonderful scent to it. To my nose, it smells like a bright citrus‑herbal mixture that feels very outdoorsy and refreshing. The formula itself is a medium consistency with a milky texture, and it applies beautifully. I often find that sunscreens can drag on the skin or leave a heavy film, but this one glides effortlessly and feels weightless once blended. It leaves my skin feeling soft and lightly moisturized, almost like a gentle daytime lotion. It uses chemical sunscreen filters, which are well‑established and effective for broad‑spectrum protection. Beyond the UV filters, the formula includes skin‑beneficial ingredients such as ectoin, vitamin E, aloe, and fermented rice components- each contributing to hydration, soothing, and overall skin comfort. It’s a thoughtful blend that supports the skin while shielding it from the sun. This sunscreen sells for $50 for the 1.7oz tube, and I think it’s worth every penny. The formulation is elegant, the texture is exceptional, and I feel confident it will protect my skin beautifully in the intense sun that I will be facing in a matter of days. Love it! Read more

The first thing to mention with this sunscreen is the high price point for an item of this volume. $50 for such a small bottle is very high in my personal opinion, but I would expect that from this brand as it’s a higher end product. I have purchased many other Tatcha branded skincare items and been impressed with all of them and this one is no different. It truly does feel like a “milk” sunscreen texture as stated in the description. It’s not watery but much thinner than many other sunscreens. It absorbs very well and quickly because of this. It doesn’t leave a white cast on my skin and isn’t overly greasy like many others can be. I love that it’s a broad spectrum SPF 50+ and also has anti-aging properties. I have oily sensitive skin and the consistency and fragrance don’t bother my skin. It lasts all day for me without needing to reapply and is effective at preventing sunburn to my face. I haven’t noticed any difference in skin texture or complexion yet but I haven’t been using it consistently. I would highly recommend this product if the price point is within your budget. Read more

I am in search of the holy grail of sunscreens. The mineral sunscreens I have tried, particularly those that are SPF50, tend to leave an unsightly white cast on the skin. That’s less of a problem with chemical sunscreens, but then there’s the concern about absorption and potential toxicity of the chemical ingredients. This one is a chemical sunscreen. Active ingredients (the chemical filters) include avobenzone 2.3%, homosalate 6.6%, and octisalate 4.5%. It’s a white liquid supplied in a tube and dispensed via a pump. It spreads easily and dries quickly. The white color disappears within just a few seconds, leaving no visible white cast. What I like most is that after application I don't get that greasy, sticky feeling of "oh, I just applied sunscreen" that I have with so many other sunscreen products. Although this is a Japanese product, it appears to be packaged for sale in other countries because there are no Japanese characters on the box or package insert. I received this product in March 2026. The date on the box and the tube, which I assume is the expiration date, is July 2027. Sun protection is important, so if you’re OK with using a chemical sunscreen, this one would be a very reasonable choice. Read more
