My little niece absolutely loves these and when I saw her octopus, I got an idea and I bought one of these for everyone in my small office last Christmas. These little guys are surprisingly effective communication tools. A year later and the difference in communication in my office is so much better. If we are feeling overwhelmed or stressed, we flip it to the unhappy side and it signals our mental space to the others and we know where everyone’s baseline is. I believe that this value far outweighs the cost. They are super cute and so soft and squishy. They are very lightweight and they are holding up, despite being flipped frequently (we get asked a lot about them from our older clients). The axolotl fins were a little concerning because they are flat fins that are just sewn in the sides, but those has held up well, they keep their shape and they haven’t ripped or frayed. Got this as a gift for my granddaughter who is really into axolotl. She just freaked out over it. Apparently this particular axolotl toy is highly sought after by kids that like these toys. What it is, all it is, is a very small plush doll that turns inside-out to make another axolotl character and has a fidget in it so that it kind of warbles in your hand. Really, that's all it is. But, it's very soft, and looks as pictured here. Now the value for the money to an adult is like, "Are you kidding me!", but of course, it made my granddaughter squeal with delight when she unwrapped it as a gift, so, you know, try and put a value on that. And know that axolotl is all the rage with kids right now, even into their teens it seems, and if yours hasn't picked up on the fad yet, best to leave this toy alone. There really isn't anything special here unless they are a fan. But if they're in on the fad, which of course will morph into another cheaply made collectable toy craze before long, this is one of the ones they'll be seeking. And it'd be wise to spend a little (quality?) time looking at these things on the internet with your kid so that you know too get the right one and not purchase one they already have. Have fun.
