I bought this to see if I could get into the smart ring habit before committing to a $300+ device. For the price, the hardware is surprisingly solid. It’s lightweight, looks like a standard band, and is much more comfortable to wear to bed than a bulky smartwatch. The tracking data is decent for steps and heart rate, but you need to know about the sleep tracking limitation: it strictly records sleep during "standard" night hours. If you take a nap during the day, it simply won't log it. The native app is functional but a bit clunky. I actually switched to using GadgetBridge (an open-source app), which offers way more customization for things like notifications and button settings than the stock app. Just keep in mind that even GadgetBridge can't force the ring to track those naps; that seems to be a firmware limitation. Also, be careful with the touch controls on the ring surface—they are very sensitive, so I often trigger them just by putting my hands in my pockets. If you are not familiar with Amazon Vine, it is basically Amazon trading free* products for honest reviews. You see a lot of Vine reviews that are cookie cutter and based on templates. I aim to make my reviews honest and non-cookie cutter (other than this intro and disclaimer). * These items are not actually free as Vine members pay income tax on the items they receive. Therefore, I will never order something from Vine unless I actually intend to use it. I think this is important for readers to understand because it means I will never order an item just to provide a fake five star review to a company. If I review something as good, it means I actually enjoyed using it or it fills its intended purpose correctly. Items that don't meet my expectations will be reviewed accordingly. ***NOTE*** Because the product description for this ring is basically non-existent, here's a list of functions: step/activity tracker, sleep quality and time tracker, heart rate monitor, heart rate variability monitor (I have not figured out what this actually does), blood oxygen monitor, stress monitor (I also can't figure out what this is actually measuring). Why I ordered this item: I am at an age where I have started to want telemetry on my health. I looked at smart rings that cost $300 or more, but wanted a soft landing. I ordered this to see if I wanted to invest in a more expensive ring (will I wear it, is it comfortable, etc). Likes: * This ring actually is pretty comfortable. * The battery life is solid. I recharge this ring at the 3 day mark, and it took maybe two hours to recharge fully. * The features on it are decent. I have no way of knowing how accurate the blood oxygen sensor is, but the heart rate monitor has been very accurate based on my testing. * The app is functional though kind of funky. Some of the verbiage in it is weird, but that is likely due to the shoddy translation. * It looks good as it mostly appears black unless it is actively running one of the monitor functions, at which point it has some text and a light or two. * It is true to size and fits me perfectly. No likes: * The touch controls are pretty bad. It picks up my finger rubbing against the ring as a tap, meaning that any action I set to occur on a double tap happens repeatedly. I had to turn the tap feature off. Would I pay full price for this product: At $19, why the heck not? Final thoughts: This was a great segue into higher end smart rings.
