useful, fairly realistic

They look nice enough in my planted tank, and my swordtails and dwarf Mexican crayfish all enjoy going through them--their holes and hollow interiors are spacious enough for an adult female swordtail to swim through but also seem to provide adequate sense of security for the tiny crayfish. I'd love it if they were available in another color scheme or two, to mimic different kinds of wood, as I love the warmer brown-and-yellowish tones of the fake pine log that's also in the tank, but they look decent enough. Cool logs

Pretty cool logs, a little smaller than I expected but they fit in well with the rest of the stuff in my planted tank. My neons love them to hide in. Read more

Ok, but very small

Products are tiny and look even smaller than measurements. Looks decent and can tell are not real wood. Read more

Unsafe for betta fish

The media could not be loaded. I am returning these log hides. They don’t look like the photos in the listing. They look very cheaply painted and fake. But more importantly they aren’t safe. They have several sharp points and jagged edges. And the tunnels are very narrow. I think my betta could easily get injured on these. I’m not taking that risk. Read more

The tree trunks would be great if not quite so sharp...

The stumps look fairly realistic...the sizes are good for a small tank... however ALL the edges are very sharp!! They may be safe for tiny fish that wouldn’t have as much chance to scrape their scales...I wanted them for my female betta fish that are always curious and like to swim in and out of objects... I’m using the one without as many holes but the other with several small openings...I don’t dare to take the chance of causing them harm... the raised bark like ridges are realistic but sharp and difficult to clean.... Worth it in my opinion

My African dwarf frogs love these two pieces! I love all the holes it has as is allows them to easily find a way out to get to the surface and breath, other products often only have one opening which they can have trouble navigating the material is not too rough or anything as that has been a problem in the past. My fish aren't dead. Always check any ornament before placing in tank

Don't be a moron and check each piece before placing inside the tank. Perhaps the previous poster never heard of a nail file? With that said, yes, I had to file a bit down - as you should with ANY plastic ornament. The one piece is good if you have SMALL critters - my red betta is able to swim around inside and out of the piece shown. The other piece is large enough to be used by small goldfish (Ignore the algae - it'll be food for my otos when I place it in their tank later this week, haha!) Not a bad price for two! Read more
