Bought 3 of these for grandchildren. They have good sound & quality. I’d suggest you call it something other than a drum. It affects the way little boys “attack” it. Then they settle in to play songs & enjoy the sounds. Expensive but good quality. Read more

this was a gift for my daughter. the whole family enjoys playing with it. The songs in the book are hit or miss. we found a few we liked. One that was a bit strange; a pop song I had never heard so I looked it up and the lyrics contain profanity so that was an odd choice. as far as the sound of the drum; it's very sweet and resonates beautifully. I love the 10 inch diameter and 11 tones, especially because it positions the numbers in an easy to remember location, 1-3-5-7 on the right and 2-4-6 on the left. The sound of the drum is great. I thought I was buying a drum with C Major scale, but this is D Major. I was disappointed because I wanted to learn Christmas songs which are mainly written in C Major. I got a songbook for tongue drums written in the key of C. Turns out I can still use the book but the 1 will be a D note on this drum instead of a C note. Since I have all the notes, the songbook That I bought is still usable. The songs provide by Balmy are mostly unknown to me and NO lyrics are provided. The notes run together with no pauses. I found it almost impossible to use the songs in the provided book. I decided I wanted another drum for my husband. So I have ordered a 10 inch 11 note in a C Major. Balmy does not make that scale in a 10 inch. So my new drum will be a different brand. I would recommend this drum to others because it looks and sounds very good. But understand if you want to play songs, that you might want to look for another brand if you want a 10 inch in the key of C. Read more
