This is my third north face backpack in my life. They have lasted years upon years and in my opinion are worth every penny. The size is great it fits my 15in laptop with no issues along with notebooks and books and chargers. I love the color it is vibrant and seems well made overall. I use this bag every day. Holds my 15 in MacBook Air in the laptop compartment, is durable (bought this to replace a 17 year old NF backpack), has compartments for nearly everything, two cup holders. My only complaint is it is not very big. My old north face backpack I could literally take two Europe on vacation for two weeks. I couldn’t be happier with my North Face Recon backpack. I use it daily for work and travel, and it’s hands-down one of the best backpacks I’ve owned. The laptop compartment is well-padded and fits my 15” laptop perfectly. There’s also plenty of space in the main compartment for books, clothes, or gear, plus a ton of smartly placed pockets to keep everything organized. The front pocket is great for quick-access items, and the fleece-lined pocket is perfect for sunglasses or a phone. The best part? It’s incredibly comfortable to wear, even when fully loaded. This backpack overall is very good quality. It is made of a very durable material and you can feel how strong the material is. The main panels are also somewhat waterproof, and I have never had any problems walking in the rain with it. The back is well padded and very comfortable to walk with, but the top straps may be a bit narrow for some people. My only problem with this is that there is basically one compartment and all the other pockets (laptop, admin, front smaller pocket) are like bags that stick into the main compartment, limiting the space in there. So, any larger items have to be stuffed into the bottom and can be very hard to remove if there are items in the admin pocket. Overall, this is a very good backpack, but could be better if access to the bottom of the bag was made easier, possibly by making each pocket a separate compartment instead of a bag that sticks into the main compartment. If you're using this as a simple EDC bag for a laptop, its pretty good. It fits a 15 inch laptop just fine. The durability would work if you're probably not putting it through the ringer. My commute really isn't too demanding, but for what it is, this bag is perfect. Enough room for a small jacket or hoodie and a lunch bag if you pack it right. I'd say its worth the money and the build quality is pretty strong. And I think it looks pretty good without being TOO tactical, and more urban cool, even with a name like RECON. Read more

Fantastic bag. Initially purchased cheaper backpack for my high schooler in August. By end of September it was ripping at the shoulder straps and zipper. Purchased this bag and it has held up to major abuse. Overstuffed clothes, heavy text books and a laptop AND bulky clothes, getting tossed on the ground, etc. Not one string has come undone. I expected the shoulder straps to fray like the first bag, but five months later and the seams look like they did the day it arrived. You get what you pay for! Read more
