I read this book to my toddler who loves trains, and it actually encourages him to use the toilet. Great book with a cute story. Read more

My child loves this book

There are much better educational books to read to your child for potty training. And when I read this I cringed because it's not realistic at all and I hope my toddler doesn't start pooping on train toys... BUT. My toddler absolutely loves this book. He wants to read it all the time. He was pretend-reading it to his toy duck. If your child loves trains, they will probably enjoy this book. I'd recommend for a fun read. Colorful illustrations. Fun little tale. Read more

My train obsessed toddler loves this book and asks for it constantly. I will say the actually words/story leave quite a bit to be desired, but the illustrations are adorable and your toddler will probably love it anyway. Read more

Effective! My son loves it

My son absolutely LOVES this book! He is 2 years and 4 months. We read it over and over and within a few days he wanted to put on his underwear and sit on potty. It’s been less than 2 weeks and he is going #2 on potty (we also made a sticker chart!) but we found the same stuffed animals in story and put them on their own potties and made a train and it was so fun and exciting for him. Normally, if he is wearing clothes or a diaper, he will not tell me when he goes to the bathroom even though I have reminded him to EVERY day for months now! But, after this book, He even told me one night in bed with his PJs on, that he has to go... and he did!:) he feels empowered by this book because he’s “growing up!” Great book! Can’t recommend it highly enough for someone whose child loves trains:) Read more

Cute idea not very instructional

LoraineFebruary 28, 2014✓ Verified purchase

I got this book for my 2 year old son who LOVES trains. I'm still trying to get him interested in using the potty, right now he refuses. So I thought this book would help him to become more interested. He loves reading this book because it is about a train. However, I don't think it is really encouraging him to use the potty. The author tries to be creative with the idea of potty training, but it's so creative that it's not very clear what is actually happening. I still read this book to my son all the time, but I have found other books that are more "instructional." Read more
