I'm going to cut straight to the chase: this movie is bad. It's really bad. The plot is nonsensical, the writing is sub-par, and the acting is less than stellar. And I absolutely love it. I watched this movie when I was about ten or eleven years old, and even then I knew it was a bad movie. But it's one of those "so bad it's good" films that will leave you rolling with laughter. You can watch this movie with children and they'll laugh right along with you. If you, like me, saw this as a kid and are afraid the quality of the movie will ruin your nostalgia, don't be. It's just as corny as it ever was, and is worth watching again as an adult. The story is about a kid who moves to a new town and wants to hang out with the local skateboard gang. But they're bullies and don't like him. So he decides to put model car parts and a weed-eater engine on his skateboard, because, you know, that'll help. And then lightning strikes the modified skateboard and it comes to life. Yep. There's also a really awkward love story between the kid's dad and a woman who owns a junk store. She's in danger of losing the store to the villain of the story, a used-car salesman. And there's a kid in a chicken costume peddling wings whom the bully skateboarders like to beat up. It's all family-friendly and hilariously poorly executed. If you're looking to laugh, pick this one up. Read more
Great movie, I actually saw the second one first in the 1990's, I watched it the other night and it was Great actually! I like the part about the Dad moving to a town for Broadcasting because that it something I might haft to do one day. Dom Deluise does excellent for a what I call a Skateboard Short Circuit. After seeing this on Jontron's video I had to get it to see just how cheesy it was and I was not disappointed. If you get this thinking it will actually be a good movie you will be sorely disappointed but if you get this knowing it will be bad then it will be so bad its good. My copy was scratched but that's on the seller than the movie itself so make sure that you get one that's in excellent condition. Overall I would give it a B+ for cheesy fun. Read more
