This mat feels like a foam core shrink-wrapped with a mesh fabric. I don't believe that's how it's actually constructed, that's just how it feels. The one I owned previously was foam dipped in a thick rubber-like paint and was definitely heavier. The new mat is lighter and doesn't want to lay flat after being stored rolled up.
