A little shorter but they block out all noise. They are comfortable and stay in place. Read more

Soft, adequate noise cancellation for everyday household and neighborhood noise.

Jason HFebruary 24, 2026

These are really soft and give a good amount of noise cancellation for household use, or for more ambient noise if perhaps they are working on a house across the street. They are a good value, and I would buy them with my own money in the future. If you use them for travel, its useful to get an earplug pair individually wrapped. Read more

Soft and Supple but Large and Hard to Fit

KLSJanuary 25, 2026✓ Verified purchase

The quality of my go-to ear plugs has been deteriorating for some time, until they finally became so scratchy and hard, they actually hurt my ears. The softness factor was the main reason I decided to try TheraCare Soft Foam Earplugs. The only problem I could foresee was that I've never had success with conical shapes and do better with barrel shapes. On the plus side, they are definitely soft and painless. But, they are too large for my ear canal, and so soft, they morph out of shape in a nanosecond. It was difficult to even place them correctly. I couldn't hold them firmly in place. They just wiggled around and eventually fell out. There's 50 of them so I persevered until I got them to stay in. I'm not an expert on dB levels but I could hear everything going on, albeit muted. What bothered me more, they were only good for a one time use. I have been able to use other plugs multiple times. I'm giving these ear plugs three stars because fitting ear plugs to different size ear canals is personal and these have the potential to work for larger ears. I'm deducting two stars, mainly, because the overly soft foam makes them difficult to insert, but also because they are not reusable. Read more

Nice! This is a great thing to have on hand. The price is great.

KenjiFoxAugust 19, 2025

So I've used a LOT of ear plugs. I worked in a factory where they were mandatory due to the loud metal working machines. I tend to prefer the ones that are mushroom shaped and on a string so that I could use the same ones for a long time, but the little packets were everywhere to grab. These are like the yellow or orange ones you may find, but nicer. Much nicer than the cylindrical ones. These are very soft and won't make your ears hurt. As with any foam plug pinch gently and roll between your fingers. Do more rolling than pinching, don't compress them too fast. So long as you do it evenly they will expand back smoothly with no leaks. These reduce noise a bit better than most cheap foam ones, they would be great for sleeping or for use in actively loud places where your hearing could be damaged. Since they are a neutral color they would not stand out at an event like the highlighter colored ones would. The jar is perfect, with lots of them inside for the price. Read more

I returned these ear plugs

Cheryl WentzelFebruary 19, 2026✓ Verified purchase

I purchased these ear plugs for noise cancellation so I could sleep at night. These did not cancel noise, they only muffled noise. The only way to cancel noise was to put my ear plugs in and then hold my finger tips in my ears and press on the plugs. This is not condusive to good sleep quality or comfort. These may work for someone who is not a light sleeper. They are comfortable to wear, but they did not allow me to sleep. I am a very light sleeper. I returned these and will continue to search for ear plugs that work better for me. Read more

They work well if you follow the instructions

murkyJuly 8, 2025

I'm on a different sleep schedule than the rest of my family, so I routinely use earplugs in the morning to keep from being awoken. So I like to keep a tub like this on my night stand and have had a few. These ones work well and I will rotate through them. They are very soft, as advertised, and also clean, uniform and well-shaped. They come in a sealed jar all-together. These may be the highest dB rated plugs I've tried, but I can't really tell the difference in sound attenuation compared to ones that are rated at 31dB. How they are installed makes a big difference. At first these weren't blocking much sound, so I had to fiddled with them. The key, at least in my ears, is to roll them into a tight cylinder so that they can be inserted relatively deeply into my ear, and then holding the end to keep it from backing out until the plug has expanded enough to be trapped. It's that seal that blocks the sound. These seemed to take a little more effort, and time, to fit. But perhaps that's due to being softer and having a higher dB reduction. The tub does its job, but could be improved by either having half hinged, or snap on like a Pringles can. I've had both of those types and prefer them to having to screw the lid off and back on each time I want to extract a pair of plugs. Read more

Earplugs

LolaAugust 7, 2025

These earplugs come in a convenient hard plastic holder with a closable lid which keeps the rest dust-free. The earplugs work well; I have to wear them every night because I have someone who saws all the logs at night. Do I still hear him? Yes, I've yet to find anyone who can mute that, but it is significantly decreased. My child was talking to me and in front of me, and I could hear the tone but not necessarily the words. These do not have a flared base and are a bit stiff. I can't wear these multiple nights in a row because they irritate my skin and cause my ear canals to be sore. Overall, though, they are pretty ok.
