Item arrived on time and in perfect condition. Item is flat now and works as described. Time will tell how well it holds up but right now the thickness is very good for a low pile carpet. It is not easy to unroll. however it was very cold when delivered. Unpacking it and letting it warm up before unrolling will help. It does need time and some weight to flatten out. No wonder there are instructions to flatten the product. It is very difficult to unroll. I considered sending it back. However, once flattened, I find the product to be an excellent solution to protecting the carpet around the desk. Therefore I would rate its performance as "excellent," but one may need to seek help with the unrolling. Read more

This was very difficult to unroll and it took about five days to very slowly unroll it, just a little bit at a time and then place heavy weights on the 5-6 inches that unrolled for at least 24 hours. Repeat process for another five-6 days. It still is not fully unrolled and my chair will not roll on the mat if I am sitting in it. The carpet under the mat is indoor-out door and not very thick at all. I still stub my toes on the edges of the mat if I am not really paying attention. It does not seem to adhere to the carpet well and will slip around a bit. I am not really happy with the product, but I tried to re-roll it to send back without success. It is just too think and still to roll up again. I do not normally write bad reviews because if it is just a little thing that is wrong, I think that maybe I just expect too much, but this is my very first bad review and I am sorry guys, but I cannot find anything good to say about it except that it did arrive on time. After a week is still trying to rollback. It works fine but rolls back the under the desk section. I keep pushing it down with my feet. Read more
Extremely sturdy plastic. So rugged I had to get 4 twenty lb weights to hold it down as it easily moved the 5 and 10 lb I put on it. After 3 days it is flat as penny. Been great to roll on, good value. I didn’t notice any smell but your experience maybe different Read more
