This is the chair mat you need for carpeting!
I have had this for a year now. It is absolutely perfect for your office chair if you have carpeting. I went through a couple of chair mats before I found this one - others were hard with spiky points underneath to hold them to the carpet - problem being the edges would curl up and spikes would hurt if you caught your foot on those corners that couldn't be made to stay down. This mat is wonderful - soft enough that it just stays flat, no corners to catch and curl up, no spiky points underneath. It is not huge, but is perfect for a chair if you just sit at your desk and don't need to move around a lot. Highly recommended and has held up very well! Read more
Soft mat moves around on the carpet
I am disappointed in this mat. It moves whenever I move my chair. The little anti-slip pegs on the bottom of the mat are supposed to hold it in place on the carpet, but they don't. It slides around on the carpet as if it were on the floor. The mat is so soft that the rolling feet of my desk chair dig in and make it hard for the chair to move. That's probably why the mat slides. It took a minute to try and get it out of the box and unrolled. It was semi-flat the first day, but by the next day the mat was flat and has worked well under my chair. Chair rolls smoothly over the surface and does not catch on the edge. Yes, it does leave some dents in the mat after sitting in the chair for a while, but they lift out quickly. Not hard enough to prevent desk chair wheels from sinking into the carpet below
Upon placing the mat on my Berber carpet and sitting on my chair, I could not smoothly roll my office chair over it. I purchased this to replace a larger more expensive chair mat made of harder plastic, which allows my chair wheels to glide easily. I know from experience that there are mats that work for my carpet, but sadly, this smaller mat is too soft for the weight of me and my chair. Read more
