My brother-in-law, who is a professional plumber, told me to get this to unclog my bathroom sink drain. This worked exactly as advertised. Unclogged the sink in about 1 minute and the water drains really well now. The one thing I would highly recommend is to use a mask and even some glasses when pouring the contents either into measuring container or directly into the drain because the fumes are quite strong. I waited a month before I sang this product's praises, just in case it was a fluke. I've had an issue with my kitchen sink for over a year; it always gets backed up, and not at the elbow. It's in the pipes just under the floor. I knew the outside street drain wasn't clogged because I put a camera through it and saw nothing, so that told me the problem was between my sink and somewhere before it hits the main pipe. After a year, my only options were to call a plumber and spend a fortune. Essentially, I would have to connect a hose using a bladder, crawl under the sink, and stuff it in there. I'd run the hose at full blast for about 10 minutes, and it would clear up for a week or so. Eventually, it would start backing up again every couple of weeks. I found this product on Amazon while looking for a drain snake and looked it up on YouTube. Almost everyone put it directly in the sink itself. I knew my problem was in the lower pipe, about two feet down from under the sink. So, what I did was I removed the elbow and the connecting pipe to the main pipe just below the sink that went straight down and made sure there was no water. Then, I poured half a bottle of this stuff in there and put it all back together. They said it reacts to hot water, so I had four pots of boiling hot water ready to go on the stove and poured them in one by one with gloves on. The first time I poured it in, I could hear a loud suction noise as the crystals started to activate. After that, I just kept pouring water in, about three to four gallons, maybe more. I even had the hot water kettle on repeat for a bit. After I finished, it ran clear—but it's done that before, so I waited day after day, expecting it to return. It never did. I said if it's clear after a month, I'll write a review. In my case, I had to put it deeper down in the pipe than the elbow because I knew the reaction to hot water was instant, and I didn't know how far it would go before it became diluted or lost its efficacy. My bathroom sink was completely stuck ! I'm certain it was due to hair. I poured about a 3rd of the bottle down the drain. Let it sit per instructions. It barely worked. At this point, I was thinking of returning the bottle. Then I said, screw it, Let's move forward and put the rest of the bottle in. Suddenly, all the water went down and cleared the drain.
