Thule Paramount 22L

This is a great tote bag that carries the quality and craftsmanship of the Thule brand. I have a Thule cargo box but I was always interested in their bags and this was a great way to try one out. It's essentially a hand carry tote bag for every day essentials like your tablet, laptop, water bottle and more. I like the discreet pocket which will fit your phone or wallet inside to keep it hidden away from the front of the bag. The bag is made of high quality and durable nylon material that is water resistant. It uses YKK zippers that are pretty much the gold standard of zippers. The carrying straps are comfortable and the tablet/laptop pocket has added padding protection. There are several organizational pockets inside the bag, as well. I use this bag to carry around my things when I'm out and about or going to school and is perfect when you need more room than a smaller bag might not handle. Read more

This bag is seriously strong, the material is thick, and the craftsmanship is outstanding! The padding is luxurious. throughout this bag and there are also numerous zippers to put all sorts of different things. I honestly can't say enough about the quality, I've never seen a bag built so well. Your personal electronic devices will be more than safe in this bag, and the handle material is 1,000 times stronger than what it needs to be! This is a very good, sturdy bag! The outside pockets are perfect for having lots of things available, but no subdividers easily accessible. Key fob and pen pockets are too far in. The black bag is very dark inside to find anything. But it easily fits a laptop and iPad or notebook and lunch, sweater or even puffy jacket! Wish it came in more colors. Read more

I have always traveled with a duffel bag and backpack. However, when I switched to Cotopaxi Allpa 35L, I found carrying two backpacks esthetically displeasing. So, I researched totes and eventually went with Thule since I really like the quality of their compression cubes. This tote did not disappoint in terms of quality of the material and the zippers are fantastic. I wore the bag for a week before my trip carrying it to work and back on public transit. First, the straps hurt my shoulders with a 2023 MacBook Pro. I ended up buying a shoulder compression strap, which did not have padding and did not alleviate the pain. While the straps are long enough and will fit your shoulders, it will be challenging if you have a mid weight jacket on. Second, the umbrella/water bottle part cuts into the interior space if it is too big. Third, while the length is great, I wished it was 2-3 inches wider. Finally, on the day of my trip, I loaded the tote with my laptop, cannon camera with the lens, And couple of mini tech items. The bag was heavy and it was hard to keep it on my shoulders with the Cotopaxi backpack. It did fit into under the seat without an issue. To summarize, the good: great material and ruggedly good looking; the bad: straps are a major issue in terms of comfort and portability. To improve this bag, I recommend Thule provides a padded cushion to go along with the straps. I also recommend including a crossbody cushioned straps. Thule's typically makes excellent products, and this Paramount Tote bag is no exception. It is very nicely made from high quality materials. The zippers move smoothly, the fabrics are robust, the bottom is reinforced, and the interior is well lined. Overall, it looks and feels like a high quality bag. I've been using the bag on my daily lunches into town. I fill it with a few library books, a Chromebook, a computer mouse, an iPhone, a wallet, keys, and a few other small odds and ends. It's well organized with a nice selection of pockets, both on the outside and inside. The padded inside compartment provides decent protection for my Chromebook, but I wouldn't subject the bag to too much dropping and tossing around when electronics are inside. As a 5'6" and 135 pound male the bag is well sized for my body. It loops over my shoulder comfortably and hangs at a nice level where I can grasp it with my palm. All in all... a terrific bag.
