This didn't work for me (female) -maybe if you're a dude with THICK and LONG nose or ear hair it would work. The hairs have to be long to even reach the blades, which means after trimming you'd have to wait until your nose hair was long and thick again for this to work... ick. I got these manual nose hair trimmers because I wanted something simple where I did not have to worry about battery life, charging, or another device cluttering up the bathroom drawer. They are lightweight, slim, and about 3.6 inches long, so they are easy to hold and control. The rounded top design is nice because it goes into the nostril without hurting. It does not feel sharp or scratchy. You do have to gently twirl it and angle it up against the nasal passages in just the right way to get the hair to catch. Once it does, it removes the hair cleanly and quickly. The bristle end also rinses clean easily under running water, which I appreciate. There is no complicated cleaning process. Just rinse and it is ready for next time. I like that this is a quick and easy solution. It takes only a minute or two. Note: These don't work as well as electric trimmers, but they are great in a pinch. I like to keep them in my purse, so if I ever notice a stray hair, I can take care of it right away.
