Very easy setup. The app for remote viewing on mobile devices was very easy to setup. No port forwarding needed. Just scan the QR code on the screen, enter password, and you are good to go. The CMS program for viewing on computer remotely works equally well. I was using 16 existing cameras from an outdated DVR system. The cameras were originally using SDI output. I had to change the output from the camera to TVI before I could get an image as SDI is not supported by this system. This NVR is PACKED with features !!!! The quality of this product is suburb. After a couple of hours I had the NVR on my home computer as well as my phone. The manual was written in plain English and the customer support was excellent. I had a small problem with the communication between the PTZ camera connecting the NVR. The support was spot on it and resolved my problem in the same day. I would recommend purchasing a 16 channel NVR even if you have an 8 camera system. Give yourself plenty of expansion room and go for the pre-installed 4Tb. hard drive. You will NOT go wrong in purchasing this unit. Read more

I had security camera system made by a company called WiseNet that went out of business, and the DVR just stopped working. I rated it 4-stars only because the video color isn't as good as what I had; but it works very well, easy to add to existing compatible cameras, and software effective. It was easy to connect to my home network for PC and cellphone, and to set up remote monitoring using laptop when not using home network. Looks good on countertop and doesn't take up much space. we have 14 outside wired cameras around our house connection to device takes too long, several long seconds which miss point of checking cameras if dog starts barking have to restart app every time to view cameras no visual bar view of activity of past, cannot see peaks of activity to check what was going on, especially overnight, literally blind if something happening as it occurs app not user friendly I hate it but my husband says too much work to change out and return very disappointed for the price Read more

I was just replacing my existing DVR from another brand with this one. My cameras were all already wired and si I just needed to simply switch the hookups. Setup was a breeze, everything worked right away as intended. All my cameras (8) were instantly detected and ready to use. The initial setup wizard worked right out of the box and was fast with only a few steps. After setup I configured the networking and remote apps, all free! which is great. It worked very fast on iphone with little to no lag, even over cell data. I like that it supports Windows as well with a dedicated desktop app. Its not through a browser. The Windows app is essentially just a remote connection to the device, so you see everything exactly how you see it on site via the monitor. Conclusion: This replaced my old and failing Samsung system and was honestly so much better than what I had previously. I would definitely buy this brand again. I am replacing my old six channel DVR. I have a DVR set up in my barn. I went with this particular modelso I could add more cameras. I have to say I have been amazed by how well and fast the DVR is! The software that they use is very easy and the app to use with it is incredibly fast and loads on my video quickly, and you can search back through your videos for motion in order to review any mishaps that could’ve possibly happened. I did have some questions because I am novice to this and their customer service picked up the phone right away and the second time I called they called me right back!
