I admit that I have been super happy with every Timbuk2 bag I've owned to date. They're sturdy; well-designed; comfortable; shrug off dirt; and fit my needs beautifully. This messenger bag is step up in size from what I've used before. I bought it to be my carry-on hand-bag for international travel, meaning I need it to carry my purse, phone, e-reader, travel documents, passport, snacks, a bottle of water, headphones and maybe an iPad, and maybe hold a light jacket and serve as my foot rest in-flight (I'm short). It has the capacity I need while still being comfortable to carry. The pockets are well designed to cushion personal electronics. And as usual, it's constructed of materials that will, I am sure, last longer than I will. Read more
Timbuk2 bags are just the best. This bag is no exception. The quick adjusting strap is rather taking me a moment to get used to. There is a stretchy sort of thing to keep the strap from flapping and flopping about... but I think that I will likely end up finding something myself that is a little more snug. The bottle opener on the strap is... sort of a silly for me. It kind of clicks and chimes as it bumps against everything But I don't ever find myself in need of a bottle opener, so there's that. Those two things aside, the bag is great! I got the extra small and it perfectly hold my tablet, a few American comic books, a manga, my battery pack, and miscellaneous other nerd/ gaming stuff. Like my other Timbuk2 bags, the quality is superior. Quality construction and very sturdy. The honey colour I ordered is flash enough to pop, but not so flash as to look like "safety yellow" or a road sign type thing. Read more
Very good bag. Tough and can carry all your gear plus water bottles and snacks. Not too big or bulky, and gets the job done! Easy access pockets are lovely for keys and charging cables, and did I mention snacks? 🤤 I feel like my stuff is well protected in this, and it's comfortable to wear. Read more
This is a fabulously-constructed bag. I needed a shoulder bag that had extra capacity for books on top of a laptop, and the durability of the bag as well as the size of the (medium) compartment is enough to take a half dozen books I need for research along. It would make a great library bag, come to think of it. Here are my quibbles: - the extra chest strap attachment included is difficult to attach correctly -- it's far from intuitive and really needs step by step instructions to explain its use. - the outside handle is not centered on the top of the bag. For the life of me I can't figure out how this is an advantage. You can't carry the bag with the handle normally, without the bag's center of gravity shifting to make the carry awkward. - I'd like at least one of the small inside slot pockets to have an elasticized finish to it; there's one pocket on the inside "end" of the bag that has a semi-elasticized rim at the top, but it's not really the size where it's useful to hold anything in. Ditto the mesh pocket at the other end on the inside. - Which brings me to the biggest thing I miss in this bag: a sturdy water bottle pocket. You could fit a small water bottle (a plastic disposable one, at least) in one of the inside end pockets, but that would sort of defeat the point of having a water bottle pocket *away* from the contents you wish to keep dry. This is enough to knock off a whole star for me. I want a large water bottle pocket on the outside. Would I buy again? The overall construction and design is great - water resistant for sure, good inside and outside pockets, easily adjustable main closures, great padded shoulder strap. So, yeah, sure, it's worth the money. But the water bottle thing has bothered me just a bit more than I thought it would. Read more
A fine bag. Quality zippers and stitching, nice thick materials, thoughtful design. It was a little pricy compared to other messenger bags, but I’m well pleased with it. I like classic and practical more than modern and tactical. It has a generous strap that helped the bag sit well on my body even though I’m quite tall. The key leash is one of my favorite functional parts of the bag. I use it all the time. Small gripes are that the water bottle pockets are somewhat awkward and the front pockets become full quickly. Otherwise it’s very easy to pack the bag and take it on the go. Read more
great bag, I have several. It's exactly what I want in size and look. I can fit my iPad in its separate pocket and my phone, back up charger and more of my toys in it the big space and it does not look stuff and over filled. It has other small closed pockets for smaller things like cords, EDC flashlight, pens/pads. It also has an open pocket for quick access but when the main flap is secured and closed it secures the open pocket. The should strap is nice and long enough and comes with removable pad which I did. Easy to pleasure travel with as I dont travel with my lap top anymore in not on business ( just my iPad). Some may consider the bag pricy but it had what I wanted and I am a bag freak. I love the yellow color I chose. Read more
I bought the larger of the available sizes and I regretted it at first because it was too large for daily use. I have since gotten used to it and thought it still too large for my personal daily use, the bag is comfortable, spacious and versatile. It has a ton of pockets and pouches to put things. I'm going to use it as a carry on for my next flight. When traveling on vacation I like to travel with one change of clothes in my carron on along with my contact lenses, glasses, tablet, battery pack and charging cables. This bag will accommodate all those and maybe more. Read more
