I purchased 9 goldfish and they have been hardy and healthy. They arrived on my birthday last year and I am grateful to report that my birthday is a few days away and I still have my beautiful and friendly 9! I also had about 15 "feeder" fish from local pet store at the same time, and only 9 made it through the year. I just built them a deep new pond so that I do not need to bring them into my garage every winter. Hopefully it helps with more noticeable growth and keeps them warm during the winter months. It has been 3 years since I bought these fish and only 2 have died.. one got sick but I was able to save it. The fish shipped fast and all were alive. I was told the day they would arrive so I made sure I was home.. the fish have gown to be pretty big and I probably need another tank but for now they will stay where they are.. what else can I say if these are great fish..I reviewed these fish before but took it down, so there are before and after pictures. The media could not be loaded. I’ve purchased these fish twice and both times all arrived in perfect condition. I added them to my 85 gallon indoor pond & I love them. They do tend to jump a bit in the first couple weeks so I recommend covering your tank or pond. I had 3 jump out but since they’re so healthy, they survived after I put them back in. Now I cover them at night. I believe it’s because they’re used to being in a massive pond and it takes a while to adjust, my water conditions are perfect. Read more
Ordered fish and food but amazon gave me two different delivery dates. mailed toledo and they said they would take care of this and package so they arrived same time. now for the fish i have no complaints either. the colors are good. most fish all arrived lively. only a couple of them were kinda sluggish. i expected this. ordered 24 4 to 5 inch fish, it's now been 21 days, and i have lost only 2 fish, one within 24 hours and the other around day 5. i have no issues with this, as this is a new pond. i did not mail toledo for replacements or refund. i feel that given the price and shipping process, 22 out of 24 lively, colorful, healthy fish is very acceptable to me. if you are on the edge i would go for it. if you are setting up new pond or tank make sure and have the needed tests and chemicals on hand so you can keep everything in check. i will order more fish when needed without hesitation. I love these for my outdoor pond. Just want to share some helpful advice. 1. Track your package! These are live animals and Summer is here. They need cool water and oxygen. IMMEDIATELY place the bag (unopened) in your pond or tank to equalize the temp or they will die (period). 2. As I wrote above, DON'T JUST OPEN THE BAG and dump them in! They will die! They need at least 30 minutes to equalize temperature. 3. Use a pond or tank water condition first. I us API POND STRESS COAT. 4. I see reviews saying their fish get eaten by "something" in outdoor ponds. Depending on the region, birds like cranes and blue herons will gobble them up. Get a fake owl or hawk or blue heron to guard the pond! Snapping turtles are also a problem. Dog fencing can keep them from migrating to your pond and you can eat the ones already calling your pond home : ) **Update: add snakes to the list, just caught the biggest garter snake ever swimming below the water and chasing them around, 4 ft and 1.5 inches thick. 5. Use the provided food pellets 50/50 with your own food until it runs out, just like when switching dog/cat food. Good luck with your new lovlies! I ordered 48 gold fish, they arrived in a double plastic bag with very little water not enough to cover the fishes top side. There was already about 4-5 fish dead as I looked at the bag and when I opened the bag it reeked of terrible odor 🤢 I did exactly as the instructions told me to but the fish started dying in huge quantity and within 3 days all the fish died☹️ I contacted the seller through Amazon messaging and the seller gave me the option of an exchange or refund and I thinking ok this was unusual that the fish died, decided to do the exchange. The new batch of 48 fish arrived a week later and once again I did exactly as the instructions said and low and behold the fish began to die again, I was left with about 5-6 fish that survived and are currently in my 1000 gallon outdoor pond. I’ve never had issues at all with any fish I’ve ordered from any company except this one. I reached out again to the seller and Margaret told me that since they exchanged the fish for me, they wouldn’t give me a refund. So I replied to her that I wanted the supervisor to call me directly so I can tell them what has gone on and to get this issue resolved as I wanted a full refund because they were expensive. The supervisor called me and from the beginning of the call her demeanor was rude but I went with it. She was in no way shape or form going to refund me my $198 as she said that something went wrong from my end and that they couldn’t do anything about it and basically was accusing me of lying as that’s how I took it by her rudeness and no matter how much I explained the situation, she wouldn’t listen to anything I was saying and she kept reiterating that something went wrong from my end and that there company wasn’t going to budge with a refund. She told me that they’ve NEVER had a problem like this before so I took the liberty of reading what other customers have said and there’s A LOT of unhappy clients that had the same issues as I have, DEAD fish. I’m here to tell you DON’T purchase anything from them because if something like this goes wrong they will not help you, they will accuse you of mishandling from your end without saying those exact words.
