I’ve only had this mat for a short period of time and will update my review if anything changes, however, I am very happy with this item thus far. At first impression, I was shocked by just how light it is, especially for a mat of this dimension. I have another mat with the exactly same dimensions that is at least three times the weight & isn’t something that I would carry around or take to classes. (Granted, that matt is significantly thicker at 1/4”.) I’ve posted pictures showing the grip on both the top side (*See IMG that shows the logo), as well as the grip on the bottom. I personally find it to bethe perfect size for my home workouts on my Pilates machine with just the right amount of thickness & density, while being in incredibly thin so that it perfectly accommodates my little Pilates setup at home. The mat has length, so you’re never going to have to compromise your extensions and yet it’s narrow enough to fit in small NYC apartments. I find that all of these details & size make it ideal for home workouts, particularly those that require some sort of small machine, like my Pilates reformer pictured in one of my photos, or similar such equipment. The length allows for full extensions and does not compromise my workout while the relatively narrow width makes it perfect for those who are in smaller spaces. I think that the primary downsides would be the fact that it feels a bit overpriced and may not be suitable for yoga on hard floors because there is not a ton of cushioning unless you are someone who prefers a thin, more dense mat. This yoga mat is a pretty nice economical option. I have not tried a wide range of yoga mats - I see ones available for purchase that are like $120 and people (sometimes) gush over them, and I can't imagine what would make it worth that much money. For a $25 mat, this is perfectly functional in my opinion. I got it as a spare for my usual mat, which was a similar price point (several years ago, $20 from a membership store). I don't mind paying a little extra for something that is more durable since replacement costs add up and add to landfills, but I also know I'm not that hard on yoga mats - I don't wear shoes that could scrape/mar the surface, I don't wad it up and throw it in my car, and I rarely leave the rolled-up mat anywhere that the edges even could get rubbed, so I'm not sure what would be the "death" of the mat. (If I had to make a prediction, it would be my cat....and with what she's capable of, spending $120 on a yoga mat would be really silly.) Anyway, the included carry strap makes it that much easier to always roll it up. It's possible if you are used to $120 yoga mats that this would be inferior, but at least for what I'm used to, I think it's a great affordable option that I expect will last a long time. Something review-readers should know about Vine reviews: Yes, we receive the product at no cost in exchange for an honest review, but 1) we do receive a tax form for “Non-Employee Compensation” reflecting taxable income based on the listed price of the items, and 2) I was instructed not to review items that I receive defective or damaged as it “may not be the fault of the seller/manufacturer” so ratings heavily influenced by Vine reviews may not account for a lack of product reliability. Just something to consider, as I know reviews guide my purchases and I appreciate taking all factors into consideration.. Read more
