I purchased these at the recommendation of the fabulous Miss W, who is a good friend and valued member of our son's therapy team. Our little man has a laundry list of diagnoses at this point, and he does a lot of chewing and oral stemming as part of all of that. So she had recommended these as part of a protocol to increase stimulation to the mouth in a manner that might decrease his desire to chew on everything he touches. (We swab the insides of his cheeks, the top of his palate, and the sides of his tongue...I also provide a firm but gentle press to the bottoms of his front teeth). These arrived without any condition issues, and we haven't had any of them break thus far. I must confess that because of what we are using them for, I tend to wash them out and reuse each one a few times, as he's the only one we're using them on. I also must confess because I was having a rather crummy month right after she recommended it, I was not as diligent about it as I should have been ;) But I've been better in the past week, and you know what? It does seem to be helping some! But the rating is based on the lack of condition issues and that they are holding up, not their helpfulness in this area. Read more

I have a small dog who is 6 years old and I have never been able to find a small toothbrush that was soft enough to not bother him or cause him discomfort when I brush his teeth. These oral care swabs have been a life saver. They are sturdy enough to get a good scrub on his teeth and clean them well, yet they are soft enough to not give him the prickly feeling of a toothbrush and cause him to try to run for the hills. I can get in a good 5 tooth brushings per swab before I throw it out and open a new one. I am sure these swabs have many uses, for people with mouth or teeth surgeries or sensitivities. This "Toothette" brand in particular is probably as good as you can find as far as quality goes for this type of product. Read more

Used for brushing my 98 year old mother’s teeth. Also used with a product to prevent dry mouth. Very good, not too rough but sturdy. Some of these will bite in two easily, but not these. They are very safe to use with older adults. Read more
