As a mom with a special needs daughter these are so helpful in maintaining her oral hygiene. My daughter not only has difficulty handling her secretions but is at risk for aspiration. I was given these while she was in the hospital and just had to order them for home use. These suction swabs are meant to be used with a suction machine. I use them mainly for her tongue, but can be used for the cheeks and gums as well. The solution cleans well and foams quickly. Here are a few tips that may help when using these swabs. *Tear open or cut the solution packet instead of squeezing it (as instructed) since it can squirt all over. *Use a medicine cup for the solution *I keep the suction machine running while cleaning with the swab/solution WITHOUT putting my finger over the hole. This is helpful for me so I can just put my finger over the hole when I'm ready to suck the solution and/or if my daughter starts coughing it's already on. *Clean for one full minute The only improvement I would suggest is a resealable solution packet. Since there are 2 swabs. (AM/PM) it would be nice to reseal to store. Very happy with purchase. Will definitely be ordering again. Read more

I have a special need’s granddaughter who has an aversion to almost anything being put in her mouth. Her dental hygiene was awful and she was always in distress when it was time to clean her teeth. She was an inpatient for several weeks earlier this year, and the clinical assistants used these toothbrushes on her. I’m not sure what the difference is, but she not only tolerates them, she actually enjoys having her teeth cleaned. I use them with her home suction machine, and I use one set for the day. In the hospital they used one set per brushing, but I use a little plastic cup with half of the solution to make them go a little further. Her teeth are so clean now, and her lips are clean and smoothe. Her pulmonologist is happy with the new regimen, as dental care affects respiratory health. The brushes are pricey, and not covered by insurance, but are well worth the expense in my book. Read more
