These shoes are really a game changer in the field. I have hiked through rain forests in Costa Rica, Across rocky streams and down many trails in these shoes. They are versatile, light weight, and really go to work in the water. No need to remove shoes. Get them wet. They will dry quickly and you can keep going. The treads are great. Also I like the cushy back heel and the ample toe box. They clean up nice, and look in good walking around town too. If you're an outdoor guy like me, you will live in these shoes. I bought these because I wanted some commuter shoes that would keep my feet dry when walking in snow. They are definitely are comfy and have a roomy toe box. I do enjoy them but I noticed that after a while they do have after a while they have an ammonia smell to them. I have tried using charcoal sackets and odor killers to get rid if it but I haven't been successful. Other than the smell, they are still pretty decent waterproof shoes. Read more

I wanted a grippy low-cut hiking shoe that I could run in if needed and that was water proof. This shoe delivers on comfort with the classic Topo toe box and minimal cushion that allows for good ground feel - something I like when moving on uneven, muddy or loose rock terrain. I like more padding in a running shoe or even for 10 mile plus hikes. But for exploring, trail running, or scrambling I really want to feel the terrain (e.g, mud to solid dirt, boulders, scree/loose rock, roots, etc). To me that helps me find my footing and keep my balance- a similar principle in rock climbing shoes although these are way more comfortable. The grip is perfect and I never slipped except ones when I wore them on a slick sidewalk - which I would t recommend these for. You can do some road walking or running but these shine when your exploring on/off trail. As with every Topo, these shoes feel instantly comfortable right out of the box. They never gave me blisters or hot spots even though I did some fairly aggressive hikes with minimal break-in time. I don’t know why Topo does their own proprietary waterproof exterior versus using Gor-Tex but it holds up well and feels more rugged. The waterproof interior feels plushy and not too tight but does make a soft hush while walking that seems to go away after breaking them in. Water never got in despite some moderate rain and no gaiters but if you’re worried about water getting in and not drying you could go for the non-water proof version of this shoe and use waterproof socks. That was a hard choice for me but these shoes delivered for me and I wasn’t in constant rain, running in puddles or walking through streams. Read more
I bought these shoes before heading out to Southeast Asia for a few months. I wanted something that would fit a variety of uses such as walking around town and hiking. I also wanted something waterproof since that region sees a lot of rain. After wearing them every single day for several hundred miles, these shoes have worked out great. They have held up well and unless the water came in over my ankles (which it did a couple times) the shoes stayed dry inside. I did get a small heel cup to put in the shoe as it did add a bit more comfort, but the only part of my size 14 flat feet that ever got even slightly sore was just below the lower edge of the outside ankle bone (fibula). If this part was cut slightly slower, they would be perfect. Read more
They are comfortable and EXTREMELY grippy. I hiked all morning on some scrambled and my old shoes absolutely would have slipped. My feet were still tired by the end after 19000 steps but I think that’s me and not the shoes 😅 They also dry rather quick (after I got caught off guard by a high tide when walking near the shore).
