I have ran a couple ultra marathons and I am currently preparing for an 85k in the Patagonia. I wear all Altras since my feet cannot stand any brand without an open toe box. However, after having the lone peak 7, 9, and Timp 5, the zero drop was killing my achilles and calves. I decided to try these because of the open toe box and 5mm drop. I already put 100k in them and so far they’re holding up pretty well. The toe box is wide enough, the 5mm drop is wonderful and the support underneath is great for when you go from trail to road. The grip is good, probably not as good as the Lone Peak, but so far so good. I have yet to try them in rain or mud. The only thing that worries me is that the upper seems to be a bit fragile. However, I have scratched and it’s holding up very well so far. I will update in that, but they have been game changers after running for over a year with zero drop shoes! I love them. Read more

Great cushioning on trap rock running trails. Foam is soft in warm weather but stiffens up in cold weather. Great traction Never slips. Very cool looking change for Topo. I have been a long time user of the Topo Mountain Racer due to their wide toe box. These are even better than the Topo Mountain Racer. They have better cushioning and the heel stays locked in better than the Mountain Racer. The tongue of this shoe is very secure.
