Basically, I've been using the legal size for many years like 20, in canary also. I had stockpiled them and came close to running out now. I ordered the white and they're not what they used to be. The paper doesn't seem like 20 LB, the weight of the pad and overall feeling is different, the bleed with non fountain pens is more pronounced, with fountain pens there's more feathering. The pages have that stuck together feel which I've seen on cheaper pads. This is a great price on Amazon as the list price is $134.14 (Tops website). I’m wondering how it could be this cheap. You can also tell the difference as the masthead has changed to the plain small letters Docket Gold from sought of like a design. Many websites still have the older picture but it's not what you'll receive. I had to return them unfortunately as they didn't meet my needs. I use much foreign paper and pads and this was a less expensive alternative but not good for me. This was similar to when Office Max (pre-office depot days) many years back changed over from the white and yellow binder to the blue and the paper declined much. I manged to keep some older Office Max in both colors and use them sparingly. I was hoping that some sellers had the older ones but I doubt it. They are a quality pad but at these prices and knowing of the change I'm not in a position to use them due to the issues presented. I have contacted Tops just to check with them. Read more

This is the only legal pad I know of with a strong cardboard backing and 20lb sheets. You can write on it with a fountain pen or a sharp ballpoint. The Docket Gold version is getting hard to find and expensive. Amazon's are a bargain! Read more

The reverse side of every page has the top margin printed on the bottom. If you rotate the reverse page to have the top margin at the top, then the red ruled left margin will be on the right side. Not every page is thick paper. About every two sheets in the pad are thinner than the previous sheet, making two-thirds of the pages thick paper and one-third of them thin paper. I had reviewed this tablet recently after purchasing my first case. It is top quality and I enjoy having 20 lb bond sheets. The only complaint I have is the degree of perforation of the sheets. Even when I want to leave them in the tablet, they seem to come loose without any attempt on my part to tear out the pages. Read more
