Excellent so far!

I had a bulb burn out and it was cheaper to buy this entire set, rather than one replacement bulb from Home Depot! These bulbs work great, make zero noise and put out almost no heat. They look great in my vanity as well. I’m very happy with them overall and the price was amazing! The light they emit is just right. Not too harsh, and very clear & bright. Read more

Not a soft white, it's daylight white and works great!

I ordered and received DAYLIGHT (5000 K) bulbs, a 6-pack of item number DBG25-5W50. I cannot find them by item number - I don't understand why the link in my order goes to a soft white (2700 K) bulb item number DBG25-6P5W27. So, just be aware that I am writing about the 5000 K bulb. Yes, it is very bright. I suspect other customers complaining :-) about its brightness also bought the daylight version. I wanted to replace 40 Watt incandescent bulbs with LEDs in our vanity strips. One of them has 8 bulbs, another 6 bulbs, and the half-bath has 3 bulbs. I was looking for a 25 Watt equivalent, but the lowest wattage in LEDs is 5 Watts, which provides more lumens. This bulb provides 350 lumens, which is less than the average 450 lumens of an 40 Watt incandescent. So 40 Watt equivalence is over stated, but daylight color bulbs seem brighter than any incandescent bulb due to higher contrast. I agree that for a small bath with 6 bulbs the brightness is overwhelming, but this is what I consciously bought, so I cannot blame the bulbs. This bulb is a great replacement for E26 base G25 standard bulb. Its dimensions, as stated on the box, are 3.15 inch diameter, 4.79 inch length. The length of the E26 base thread is 15/16 of an inch, a little shy of the 1 inch standard. The neck width is 9/8 of an inch at the base. The beam angle is 250 degrees, so it is not quite omnidirectional, as advertised. The bulb is not suited for fully enclosed light fixtures, but its heat produced by the built-in AC to low voltage transformer won't harm the light fixture, it will damage the diodes in the bulb. LEDs are very sensitive even to moderate heat and are not to be installed near a heat source. EDIT: One bulb already started to flash and whistle, so I had to replace it - a far cry from the promised longevity, and we were out of town for 10 days out of these four weeks since the purchase. Therefore, I am lowering the rating to four stars. Read more

Substantial lighting improvement over the CFLs they've replaced

A CFL in the four bulb fixture above my bathroom sink failed a few days ago. I swapped in the last new one I had on hand, but noticed two of the remaining three were substantially dimmer and not long for this world (one of them had been replaced last year), and all date back to approximately 2010 when the fixture was installed. Original bulbs were General Electric FLE9/3/G18 CFL, 9W/120V/60Hz/150 ma, 350 lumen per bulb, 2700K color temperature. Measured as 2.285" diameter x 3.12" high. Torchlight LED replacement bulb specs: L7-G25D, XL1G25 (one or both are the model number, and were printed on the bulbs), 6W/120V/60Hz/90 ma, 450 lumen per bulb (40W incandescent equivalent). -4°F-104°F operating temperature, 25,000 hour, dimmable (10%-100%). 3.15" diameter x 4.46" high. Ordered the 3000K (warm white) option. Measured light output before and after the CFL to LED swap with an Extech model 403125 light meter positioned at the sink center line along the outer edge. For these notes, the bulbs are numbered #1 through #4 from left to right. CFL lamps 6:51 PM - 80 lux at startup. 6:55 PM - 178 lux. Light output still noticeably increasing. 6:58 PM - 182.2-182.3 lux. Light output no longer appeared to be increasing. 7:04 PM - 159.5-159.7 lux (wait ... what?. A reduction in light output?!) 7:05 PM - 42.3 lux with a single (new) CFL on at position #3. 7:06 PM - 41.6 lux with a single (older; last year's replacement CFL) on at position #2. LED swap 7:09 PM - 87.8 lux. Single LED bulb on at position #3. 7:10 PM - 176.6 lux. Bulbs on at position #2 and #3. 7:11 PM - 266 lux. Bulbs on at position #2, #3, and #4. 7:13 PM - 353 lux. All four bulbs on. No significant change in LED light output was observed between cold start and after several minutes of warm-up. My take-aways: 1. A single LED bulb immediately put out more light than all four CFL bulbs at cold start-up. 2. Two of these LED bulbs generated about as much light as the four CFL bulbs did after they had warmed up. 3. These LED bulbs are considerably more efficient than the CFL bulbs they've replaced. In this four bulb fixture, CFL: 9 watt, 350 lumen bulbs (as rated) = 36 watts and 1400 lumens total = 38.9 lumens/watt LED: 6 watt, 450 lumen bulbs (as rated) = 24 watts and 1800 lumens total = 75 lumens/watt 4. By raw specified output (350 vs 450 lumens/bulb), I had expected an approximately 29% improvement, but measured an at least 94% (353 lux/182 lux) light intensity increase at the sink. Attributing it to the larger LED bulb diameter (3.15" vs. 2.29") providing a larger emitting surface area in conjunction with the height increase (4.46" vs. 3.12") allowing more light to make it past the mirror/cabinet positioned between the lights and sink. Work great!

I got these after spending a lot more money at a big box store, then at a smaller hardware store for them over the years. Yes, they do burn out. These a bright but not glaringly so. I'm using them in the bathroom and it's clean, clear light perfect for makeup application and such. Good for a small bathroom and a larger one light-wise. Good purchase at a good price. Read more

Love them!

Put these in our bathroom trying to help save some money on the electric bill. We have them on a dimmer and don’t have any problems with flickering. Quality seems good. I got the bright white because we only have a four bulb light fixture. They really light up the bathroom. Read more
