Surface scan showed read errors, right out of the box

I bought a N300 10TB Toshiba HDD drive. It arrived on time. When I tried to format the drive, Windows complained and couldn’t finish. I then used a SW to surface scan the drive. It showed read errors at the start of the drive. I tried that two more times, still got the same surface scan errors. The disk was returned. Read more
