This towel is cute and soft and my son loves it, but I had to effect an exchange because the original towel had a thread pulled in the middle when it arrived. This wouldn’t be a big deal, but the soft top layer is literally just one long thread on top of the base layer of towel which meant it would eventually completely unravel the top layer (the part which makes it soft and, I assume, helps with absorbency). The replacement towel also had an area with another loose thread, but, since it was under the hood and I didn’t want to return it a second time, we kept it. So far, the one tucked in the hood has not pulled further the way the one on the body of the towel did. Prompt replacement delivery. I’m sure it is giftable as the design is cute, but you would have to hope for an unflawed product because you can’t check it unobtrusively. I found no way to open the box without ripping the tabs.
