It works . . . . . but one minor item

Arizona DougMarch 24, 2023✓ Verified purchase

These plug patches are being sold as 12mm diameter stems but look at the photo: out of the box my first patch plug measured 11mm diameter WITH THE STEM TAPE STILL ATTACHED. Thus, actual stem diameter is closer to 10mm. But, not a show-stopper. Use a 10mm burring bit. You want your burring hole to be about 1 mm smaller than the stem diameter. When you pull the stem thru the hole, grasp it with lineman's pliers or a vice-grip plier, and pull hard. As you pull, the stem will stretch, the stem diameter will stretch thinner and pull thru the hole. When you release the plier, the stem will snap back to its normal size and plug the hole snuggly. Thus, your burring bit should be about 1 mm smaller than your patch stem; yet, the plug rubber is stretchable, and burring bits don't have to be exact size. I could have rated it 5 stars but the stem tape was tough to remove. Still, it's hard to go wrong with this. Cover your patch generously with sealer gunk. Read more

DIY Tire Repair!

Presidential CustomerOctober 27, 2025✓ Verified purchase

I've tried s number of other patches, plugs, etc... This repair patches worked on the first try. Brand new tire with less than 20 miles gets a fresh rusty nail. This repair patch did the trick on the first attempt. A $250 tire repaired at home in my garage. I highly recommend and I will buy again. No more offroad down time and costly repairs. Read more
