This was a retirement gift for a close friend who loves to garden and who loves the work of the French Impressionist artists. So, of course, a canvas reproduction of a Monet was the perfect choice. The blue of the sky is very deep, almost violet when you first unwrap the packaging, but once hung on a wall, and viewed as intended (from a little distance for Impressionist originals or reproductions) it looks exactly as it appears in the photo online. If you are not acquainted with the original piece, behind the child in the mid-ground, the Mom and a younger child are also in the garden in the background.
