This is a great bag....waterproof, lightweight but carries a lot! The quilted design with gold zippers makes the bag appear to be more like a luxury bag. The top of the bag opens all the way back, which is a feature I was looking for. Tall bags with narrow openings are often difficult to load and find things in. There are 2 pockets 3-4 inches deep on the outside for things like ID, passport, and the all important lipstick! On the inside of the top is a large net, zippered pocket. There is another zippered pocket on the opposite side. I was able to easily pack four pairs of pants in the shoe compartment, as well as a pair of slide on flat mules. Inside the large compartment, I packed a combo of six shirts/sweaters, a vest and 2 pairs of long sleeve/long pant pajamas. I still had more room in the bag. The long, adjustable strap made the bag easy to carry on my shoulder. The bag size is approved for under-seat travel on most airlines, as a carryon. I bought this wide‑open, large weekend bag to use as a carry‑on for shoes, a few outfits, and my travel toiletries for a big Mardi Gras trip. It ended up being a great choice because it helped free up space and weight in my checked luggage. The color is my favorite shade of pink and matches my usual checked bag perfectly. The bag made it through TSA without any issues and counted as one of my two personal carry‑ons. I didn’t place it under the seat in front of me—I stored it in the overhead bin, and it fit just fine. It also held up well through airport travel, hotel stops, and cab rides. I carried it over my shoulder using the strap, and because I packed it so full, it did get heavy. By the time I reached baggage claim to piggyback it onto my checked suitcase, my shoulders were tired and a little sore. The strap padding would be more comfortable for lighter loads than what I had packed for this trip. I was able to fit three (3) pairs of low‑top walking sneakers, one (1) pair of sandals, a few empty zip‑top bags, a pack of face masks, and all my collected Mardi Gras beads into the bottom zipped compartment on the return trip. At my departure gate for the flight home, I was unexpectedly told I needed to check the bag, though no one could explain why. After speaking with customer service, I was cleared to carry it on, and it once again fit easily in the overhead bin. I recommend this bag as a carry‑on, especially if you tend to travel heavy and want to lighten the load in your checked luggage. I’m also considering using it with my smaller rolling carry‑on for business trips, since not checking a bag makes it easier to catch earlier flights when available. The number of compartments, the capacity to hold multiple pairs of shoes, and the ability to stow my crossbody bag or purse inside make this bag very impressive. This bag is both beautiful and strong, lightweight yet quality quilted fabric. It appears well constructed and I believe it will stand up to my daily usage.
