Does your toddler love to play on the edge of the tub and cause water to get all over your floor? Mine too! I hesitated buying this at first because it seems like so much money for a piece of plastic to place on your tub. After getting it, I don't know why I waited so long. My husband loves that he doesn't have to clean water off the floor anymore and my toddler loves having the extra space to play. For our family, it was totally worth the price tag. Some things we love about this product - (1) the shelf is deeper than the side of the tub, so it actually provides more space for my toddler to play on, (2) my toddler loves to pour water over everything and this directs the water back into the tub, (3) the material used to make this product feels heavy duty and I feel it will last a long time, (4) it is a nice, long shelf compared to other options out there. Our tube is a standard size and it spans almost the whole length of the side of the tub (our tub is maybe 12" longer than the shelf itself) and (5) assuming you have the right shaped tub, the suction cups on this product stick well and I feel that the shelf is nice and secure. Some things to consider before purchasing - (1) this only secures well to tubs with flat tub sides. If you have a tub with sides that round out, then this will not fit properly. (2) The self is wider than the side of the tub. This does make it more difficult to get into the tub if you leave it on all the time (which we do) and can get in the way when trying to lean into the tub to wash your little one. This is inconvenient, but we were more frustrated with the water everywhere that the inconvenience is something we gladly put up with. And (3) if your little one is a big splasher, this won't completely prevent water from getting onto your floor from big splashing (it will reduce it but not prevent it). This is great for water that is from playing on the side of the tub. For our family, this was a game changer during bath time and was totally worth the high price tag. Read more
This is hands down the best tub-related accessory I bought for my kid. He loves the extra play space, I love that it keeps water off my floor. It’s easy to clean and worth every penny. My only regret is I wish I’d bought it sooner. We recently moved and now have a curved tub that this sadly does not fit on. Really great and easy to install just super bulky and hard to get kiddos in and out. Not good if you have younger kids as you need to be hands on the tub and there’s not much space to do that. Definitely going to be using much more as kiddos get older both at least 2. Really easy to clean and very sturdy. Just bulky. But it doesn’t affect anything do the job. This is the perfect shelf for our four-year-old and all his many bath toys and bath crayons. It is sturdy, very securely attaches to the side of our tub, and nicely holds in water when he plays on the ledge. Update- the seller/ inventor reached out to me and was very polite and responsive. We determined that my bathtub in compatible with the tub topper, as shown in the description. We discussed that the 5 indentations on the tub topper are not for draining water. If you are like me, and looked at the photos and thought water would constantly drain from those, that is incorrect. As my photo shows, it does leave water in the tub topper, but as my original review said, it does do a great job of keeping water off the floor. I did a lot of research on different bath tub ledges. My child can play in the tub for an hour or longer and I was tired on drying the floor. This has strong suction and keep the water from getting all over the floor. However, as described in the description, it does not learn toward the tub to drain water out at an angle. The water just accumulates towards the back.
