There is no denying the fact that this luggage is pricey, but it is made extremely well and definitely outlasts and outperforms a lot of its competitors. From the top to bottom, from the inside to the outside, it feels like every aspect of this luggage has been upgraded. The hinges, the zippers, the handle, the latches, the wheels along with the hard shell exterior are made of durable premium materials that are designed to withstand the abuse luggage handlers put them through. This luggage also has an upgraded rubber gasket and TSA approved combination locks, both of which are designed to add yet another layer of protection. Additionally, for its size it is relatively lightweight and easy to manage. There are two things to keep in mind when considering this luggage. First and probably the most important is that this is not a carry-on. It is too large and would need to be checked. Second, is the fact that this luggage does not expand. The space it offers is all of the space you will have. You can’t buy too many souvenirs while on vacation and hope to cram them into this luggage. With that being said, if you travel a lot and are looking for a quality piece of luggage that will last, than you might want to consider making the investment and purchase this bag. Read more

Exceptional quality 21” Lightweight Hardside Carry-on Suitcase by Tumi. This is what a true hardside suitcase should feel like – lightweight but heavy-duty, solid and sturdy. This suitcase feels like it could take an impact and withstand it without being damaged. The exterior is modern and stylish with 2 built-in TSA locks, a telescoping trolley handle and easy maneuver 360° spinner wheels. The bag opens from the built-in TSA locks to 2 equal-sized compartments both have zippered panel closure – 1 side is a mesh zippered panel with compression straps and the other is a mesh panel with a zippered pocket. The Tumi brand has a reputation for quality luggage and this is an example of why they have been around for decades. The construction is impeccable, however, this carry-on is missing some of the bells and whistles travelers like to see in a carry-on – power bank cord access, a drink holder, laptop access, etc.. The trade-off here is the quality of the carry-on vs the attractive features that come in handy while sitting in the airport. The bag came with a dust/storage bag but I am surprised that Tumi did not include a heavy-duty luggage protector with the suitcase. I would hate to hand this bag over to airline baggage handlers and have anything happen to it. Tumi luggage is expensive but if you travel frequently and when you consider it an investment that will last many many years the investment may be worth it. Read more

If you are familiar with Tumi, then you already understand the quality of the product. This large check-in luggage does not disappoint. This bag is pretty awesome. The hard outer shell not only looks awesome, it has incredible feel and quality. The joints, the zipper, the handles, and spinner wheels, and even the tags on this bag are top notch. The bag is secured by three high quality clasps. Two of these clasps have combination locks. You can set different combos on each lock to make the bag even more secure. When you open up the bag, items are held in two separate compartments that are held together by mesh walls with high quality zippers. I have no doubt this bag will securely hold whatever I pack in them. The only downside of this bag is it is not expendable. So if you're looking for a bag that can be expanded then you will not want this bag. It only opens and closes with the exact amount of space. So this wouldn't be an ideal bag for vacations where you bring more stuff home than when you left. However if you want to high quality long lasting check in bag that also provides a beautiful unique look this is definitely a bag you want to invest in. Also this is great bag if you want to spoil yourself however as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Read more

I was relatively unfamiliar with luggage brands until I started to look into TUMI and I’ve learned of their reputation as a solid luxury brand. As I will be going for an overseas vacation in the coming months, I thought I’d check it out and see how practical it could be. The luggage itself is very stylish even in black with its wavy design. The wheels roll smoothly, though I’ve yet to test on carpet. The telescoping and handle lock feel solid. The interior looks like it could even withstand some abuse as well. It conforms to most airlines carry on size constraints, but I’m not worried even though my airlines aren’t on the list of compatible companies (I measured it myself and it’s within a cm so no biggie). Now besides the luxury price tag, and consequently its steep drop in value after normal wear and tear, the only real concern is the weight. My scale read it at 10.4 lbs which is pretty heavy but not too surprising for a hard shell case. Compared to another slightly lighter hard shell suitcase I reviewed, the premium materials with this TUMI outweigh the limitations one might have when using it as a carry on.
