The spring device was the main reason I bought this set. Overall, I recommend it and am pleased with its effectiveness, but there are some “things to know” in my cons and pros that might be worth consideration. Cons: - takes some practice to get the hang of it, for effective tweezing and for controlling pain; rolling from different directions feels awkward at first but gets easier and significantly improves the effectiveness. - more painful at first than I expected, but after using it a few days straight the “maintenance” areas were not painful and plucked more easily - the tweezers are too soft/spongy to be effective with anything but the easiest-to-pull hairs; they have no grab for the tough bristles the spring misses. -even the spring can’t pull some tougher hairs, unfortunately; but changing direction can help for some Pros: - really catches the fine hairs and gets into small nooks like under the nose - does very well with peach-fuzz hairs which cuts down on some of the stiffer ones, too. When I buy something new, I expect it to be a better alternative. This product plucks one or two hairs, it's painful, it takes forever to notice, and it doesn't work at all And I have no idea how to clean it, so it's a totally unhygienic product. Not that effective. I still need to either tweeze or wax my upper lip. I don't have that much hair to begin so maybe that's the problem? If you have a heavier hair growth this might work better for you. But watch out. It can really pull and that smarts! It's made very well so Tweezerman did a good job. But it's not going to remove fine hairs. Read more
This is really effective if you can get it going in the right direction, but that can be a bit tricky. It's built asymmetrically, so you have to flip it around to always use the correct side against the skin, and then you have to point it a direction that'll pick up the hairs; rolling forward against the grain seems to generally work. If you can get it to catch, you can then pull out many hairs at once, and you can get even very very short ones. So, I can clean my entire upper lip in less than 15min. On the other hand, in areas where the hair goes every which way, or where it's hard to point the tool the right way, you can thrash around a good long while without actually doing anything; it's almost useless on the underside of my chin. By the way, once it starts getting oily from too much skin contact, WD-40 is a darned effective way to clean it. Read more
Tweezers are great but the pink spring hair grabber doesn't very well. I have an older one different brand that really grabs all the little fine hairs and I can feel them get pulled. This one I can feel the thicker longer hairs they pulled but not the finer ones. I have PCOS so having a good quality is important. Not a fan of this. I bought it cuz I lost my other older one. I found my old one and use it but really don't use this pink one I bought. It might be ok for some people but not for me. I should have returned it. Read more
I bought this handy tool here after misplacing the one I had purchased from Sephora, mainly because the price was way better here. This is a fantastic product and available here for half the price I paid for it at Sephora. ( Sephora also touted this as Limited Edition- yet the one I purchased here at Amazon.com came with a complimentary tweezer and is the exact same product as the limited edition one- same color, same labeling, identical. I can only tell them apart due to the old one having a slight crimp in the coil from getting squished in my tote bag. I would t call them completely ouchless; every now and then I grab a hair with them and i feel a little sting, it's minimal to be sure but I definitely feel the tug. I would still say this was less painful and traumatic than waxing and much faster then using a tweezer. i have found that if I use this for a few minutes everyday after about 3 weeks I hit total smoothness. At which point, I continue daily use but it takes far less time going forward to maintain the no peach fuzz look and feel. I will caution anyone who is considering purchasing one to be careful of getting any hair you aren't trying to remove (as in coiffure, brows, or lashes) caught up in it, as it stings much more than the occasional facial hair which might smart. It seems longer, thicker hairs sting or pull more than shorter, finer hairs. All in all, though using this tool to remove hair is not really what I'd consider painful. It's very convenient! Read more
It took a while to figure out how to get this thing to work but I did finally get it going and the results were extremely lacking. Though it would get a hair or two it would never touch the finer hairs and I could go over my face multiple times and not get a good result. Don't even try this thing on your neck, it's impossible to get it into a good position. The tweezers they sent were a joke as well. You would think that a company called Tweezerman could at least get those right but the ones included with this set would cut through the hair instead of gripping it so I could pull it out. This is the second Tweezerman product I have been disappointed with, the first was an eyelash curler. I think I will be avoiding this brand from now on. Read more
