I've been using another brand of dash cam in my vehicle for several years now, and I've not had any issues with it. When this came along, I decided to give it a try as a backup just in case the one I've had all these years finally died on me. Am I glad I came across the Type S T402. This thing is awesome. First, you've got a 4k lens which provides really great, crisp, clear video. The rear camera does really well for capturing/recording inside of the car cabin. Accessing the videos is easy through the app, or you can simply pop the memory card into your computer and pull them that way if necessary. Setup is a breeze, and there are plenty of options to choose from for recording, along with various options for safety regulation, such as pedestrian views, lane keeping, etc. And yes, these features are present on this version and not my original. Then, you can include the GPS features, g-shock recording, motion sensing, this device has it all. I also like that the inside camera, regardless if you're recording day or night, has really clear 1080p resolution. I could clearly see what my kids were doing the backseat, as well as my wife in the passenger space. The unit itself doesn't take up much room at all on the dash, and even if you let the cable drop down from the windshield, it's really not an eye soar. The one thing I would add is the capability to have a suction cup mount. I've never been a big fan of the 3M adhesive approach to dash cams. I like the ability to "easily" pull down the windshield mount as opposed to having it permanently adhered to the windshield. Maybe look at that as an option, Type S. Overall, a very functional friendly, easy to set up, and very clear dash cam that will serve you well. Read more

While the internal camera records in 1080p with infrared night vision for crisp footage even in the dark, the front camera records in crisp 4K. Over the years, I have used a number of dash cams, but this 4K Dual View Dash Cam with AI support is among the best in terms of video quality, usability, and feature-rich performance. True 4K UHD footage is captured by the front camera, and even in poor light or at rapid speeds, details are instantly apparent. For rideshare drivers or anyone who wants full coverage, the interior/rear 1080p channel offers a broad, clear view of the cabin or road behind you. While you are driving, you can see what is going on in and around your car thanks to the honest 4K video quality. Even at night, the image and audio from inside the car are crisp and clear. will assist in keeping you safe in any circumstance. It records clearly and easily at night, and it performs well in the presence of solar glare. Just a tip: the camera audio will record what you see, including descriptions and vehicle plate numbers, so it may be noted later. Installing it is fairly easy, however it can take some time. Dash camera installation is covered in a number of YouTube tutorials. Although the parking mode is effective, I would advise not using it constantly since it may deplete your battery. The interior camera captures 1080p video with infrared night vision, delivering sharp footage even in low-light conditions, while the front-facing camera records in stunning 4K. Over time, I have tested numerous dash cams, and this 4K Dual View Dash Cam with AI capabilities stands out for its exceptional video clarity, ease of use, and comprehensive features. The front camera delivers true 4K UHD resolution, making details easily visible in dim lighting or at high speeds. For rideshare operators or anyone seeking complete coverage, the interior/rear 1080p feed provides a wide, unobstructed view of the cabin or the road behind your vehicle. The reliable 4K video quality lets you monitor activity inside and around your car as you drive. Audio and visuals from inside the cabin remain clear and detailed, even after dark. This will help ensure your safety in various situations. It records smoothly and distinctly at night and handles solar glare effectively. A helpful note: the camera’s audio will capture what you observe, such as verbal descriptions and license plate numbers, so these can be referenced later. Setup is relatively straightforward, though it may require some patience. Several YouTube guides are available that walk through dash cam installation. While the parking mode works well, I recommend using it sparingly to avoid draining your car’s battery. Read more
