So we finally finished our basement, ran our 5.1 surround sound stereo system through the walls, and had everything ready to go once the basement was finished. The only thing though was that once it was all done and we hooked up the surround sound to our projector via an RCA cable with a different RCA to stereo connection, it produced sound out of all of the speakers except for the front right speaker. I had a different RCA to stereo connection and hooked it up to the projector, and this time all speakers were working except for the front left one. Long story short, I tried multiple connections and finally settled on purchasing a new one, so I bought this one. It miraculously worked, and the surround sound is AMAZING. The sub woofer makes the whole basement shake, and the surround sound makes it feel like you are there in the movie. I have some external speakers that use the RCA connection, and my previous 3.5mm to RCA adapter wire was too much plastic surrounding the 3.5mm plug and so could not fit into the Echo's 3.5mm port which is slightly recessed in it's housing. This plug is much slimmer profile, and plugged right into the jack, no problem. Working great with my external speakers. Read more
