My wife recently had braces and now uses a retainer on her teeth. She has used a relative's cleaner. This device is smaller and would be good for travel. It has a stainless steel interior. Good for things like retainers and dentures. It is very quiet and easy to use. It does require about a cup of water and the items to be cleaned need to be immersed. I’ve been curious about ultrasonic cleaners for a while and finally got this one for my kids to use on their InvisiLines. I wasn’t confident a toothbrush alone was going to get them as clean as they should be. To test it out, I started with an old ring that was visibly dirty and didn’t have any soft stones. After five minutes, there was definitely gunk in the water—so it’s clearly doing something! There’s also a sanitize mode, which is a nice bonus. Now I’m wishing I had gotten a larger one that could fit the mouthpieces of school-owned instruments. This seems like an affordable, effective solution for keeping small items truly clean. Read more
I used to use an ultrasonic cleaner (for jewelry mostly) but then I found out the need for ultraviolet rays to sterilize dentures. This cleaner advertises it is a retainer cleaner because it uses an internal (but removeable) basket with a center post and won't accommodate a denture with a built-in pallet. Not a problem for me but may be for others. It can be used with cleaner tablet or plain water. I find it amazing my denture is very clean in under 10 minutes. There is no aftertaste or scent and leaves my denture feeling like new. What I don't like is the buttons don't seem to respond as expected...read the manual for directions, I found the buttons awkward. UPDATE: I changed my review to 3 stars, the machine no longer has ultraviolet light and, like other reviews, it lost the ability to sterilize. The reason I bought it was for the ultraviolet cleaning. Of course, it is now too old to return so I have purchased another similar machine. This one will unfortunately go in the trash. Read more
