I just purchased a second unit. The first unit lasted 5 years. After about three years the on off switch was a bit squirrely. In the fourth year I was transmitting but not receiving well. Eventually after 5 years it did not work consistently and since we go 20-30 miles off-shore I needed something that worked all the time.
