The cable that is included in the box is not the power cable. The cable that is hard mounted to the drive on the bottom is the connection for your computer, that being said, it is a true plug and play. Once I figured out that I was the issue by attaching the wrong cable, it worked seamlessly. This is exactly what I need with my new Dell computer, I now have the ability to copy my projects to a CD and add to or edit as I want without a bunch of keystrokes. I just connected the built in USB A/USB C cable, and my computer recognized it immediately. The integrated cable also tucks neatly into the base, which makes storage easy. • Wide Compatibility I tested it with Windows 11 and it worked well. The listing also confirms compatibility with macOS and Linux but I didn’t try it on those devices. I used it with a couple of different apps and it worked well with all of them. • Good read/write performance It performs on par with what you'd expect from a solid modern external drive. I was not able to test out it speed when burning items to a disk but when transferring items from a disk or a SD card to my computer it worked well and didn't take long at all. I bought this to copy music cds onto my iMac 2025 running Sequoia 15.6.1. It powers up, I can hear the cd revolving, but nothing happens on my computer. After a few minutes it stops the revolutions of the cd and shuts down. I had to use a manual method to get the player drawer to open. Read more

Very nice unit. Extremely quiet. The only problem is that the cord is extremely short. It comes with a longer cord, but Windows 11 did not pick it up to assign it a drive letter (cord-powered unit, but no signal to Windows). I have it plugged into the back of my desktop using the short cord and resting on the side. No issues Read more
