This pan arrived too bent to lie flat and too bent to use. I was not happy because I have been planning for my tamagoyaki obsession for a long time. I had to pay a fee for Amazon to send UPS to pick up the damaged pan. They sent a replacement pan and I eagerly woke up before dawn to wait for my pan but I have been having killer back pain and five minutes on my feet and I am crying. But you get through the pain because you have something to look forward to. Besides, when you are home, nobody can see you ugly crying. So when the new replacement arrived I was already knowing what I would do about breakfast because it is a pan and I bought other goodies for tamagoyaki learning. Yes, I admit, my obsession happened through videos but I never touched a tamagoyaki before. Along with the videos, I have a friend I talk about recipes to. She knew I was inconsolable when I opened the replacement pan and saw one right, top, and bottom dents. Amazon wants me to pay a fee to return the replacement that was bent, like it was my fault. I bought aji mirin, dashi, furikake, but the party is too quiet without the makiyakinabe. I even have some sushi rice and a lot of eggs and veggies. But I should have known the risks when there are no previous reviews. I got the bad end of their quality control issues. My advice is to walk away from this tamagoyaki pan from this seller. That is how disappointed and angered I am. Trying to resolve this without paying more for the privilege of getting damaged goods. But this afternoon, I made a nice tamagoyaki that was a beautiful layered log. That was a mirino tamagoyaki. Second One I made a Dashi tamagoyaki. I’ve always wanted to make tamagoyaki, so I grabbed this pan and I’m glad I did. The ceramic nonstick coating works perfectly and the size is just right. My first attempt came out tasty, even if the rolling was a bit rough with a wooden spatula. It heats evenly, cleans easily, and is great for eggs or small portions of food. The nonstick surface is genuinely effective - my eggs slide right out without any oil spray, and the rectangular shape makes it so much easier to get uniform layers when rolling. While it's small (which is intentional for traditional tamagoyaki), I've also used it successfully for cooking single portions of bacon, making mini grilled cheese sandwiches, and even toasting sandwich bread directly on the stovetop.
